Intent: To create for jedi and lightside force users a detection system to find artifacts, sithspawn, force signatures.
Development Thread:

Manufacturer: Sasori Research
Model: Force Detector
Affiliation: Jedi
Modularity: N/A
Production: Limited

Material:
Classification: Headgear
Weight: .5kg
Quality: .5
Special Features:

  • Detects Force Energy Signatures
  • Detects Sithspawn
  • Lightweight
  • Functions as a high end hands free datapad
  • Recoils darksiders
Strengths:
  • Detects and points towards force energy signatures
  • Mini Computer
Weaknesses:
  • Limited Area of protection
  • Does not function on worlds without the force
  • Constant connection to the force is draining
  • Lack of Dead Zone (area around compass that allows it not to detect your own equipment or people close to you)
  • Can register False Signals (temporary disturbances that happen and impact the force, heavy force use, scattering effects that make entire areas seem sensitive, gatherings of different force users closely)
Description:
Designed by Sasori based off of an item acquired at auction, the compass that was presented proved interesting with its capabilities to point towards the strongest source of collected force energies be it a person or an artifact. It uses the force to detect and track signatures as instead of being able to prioritize the signatures it shows parts of it. The prioritization comes from a mini computer that reads the screen quickly and using an oled screen between two thin layers creates a heads up display on the second layer that is closest to the eye of the wearer.

Assigning a numerical value to the tracked objects. The assigned numbers based on the strength of the object or person to the force. The ability to be force dead, or conceal your force signature can allow it to be hidden. Nullification reson or force dampening/force dead bubbles will prevent it from working and the connection to the jedi themselves is important. The scouter's computer can function for anyone using rapid eye movement to flick through screens but the force tracking enhancement requires the jedi to concentrate and focus on it to allow them to function.

The major draw backs of it are much like the compass, eventually if you focus to much on it you can develop a sense of tunnel vision and can dull the other senses. As a piece of equipment it is recommended for jedi watchmen and those who search actively for artifacts of potential students. The ability to find force users in a crowd can come in handy for the order or in some cases within the Jedi Protectors who advise and aid the governments of their worlds.

This thing reveals a whole lot more detail than the original - the difference between a radar ping and a video image, almost. As such, I'd imagine this would be much more vulnerable to false signals, interference, 'jamming' or whatever. Force noise, basically, like from disturbances or heavy Force use. Include something along those lines in Weaknesses and I'll stamp this.
