Description:
The Mindshackle Scarabs, like their cousins the Phylactery Scarabs are contained within a droid, small, roughly the size of a quarter when flattened out, able to shift their shape to a degree, such as rolling themselves into balls, tubes, or flattening themselves into circles. These droids are simplistic in nature, basically severely scaled down medical droids, though their purpose is far more sinister.

Rather than being used to heal allies, the Mindshackle scarabs are used offensively. Excellent terror weapons Mindshackle scarabs attach themselves to the base of the skull of fallen warriors and embed small electro probes into the spinal cord. Then using electrical pulses through the spine they can control that body. The movements are jerky and much like a mindless being, simple stumbling forward reaching, tearing at their opponents, unable to use any weapons beyond improvised close combat weapons such as swords, axes, or clubs. The idea is less effectiveness in combat, more for sheer terror at seeing fallen comrades shuffling mindlessly forward attacking them.

If the spine is too seriously damaged the body is unable to be used, but headless bodies or those with amputated limbs, is of no concern. Alternatively they Scarabs can be used to paralyze living opponents, assuming they can access the base of the skull and are able to embed themselves before their opponent can remove them.

These have a much greater range than the Phylactery Scarabs, but can only last about one hour away from the host droid. The amount per swarm is roughly one hundred, though small droids may not be able to hold as many this is the largest amount a single swarm is able to be and operate under the control of a single droid brain.

Oddly enough I was looking into a fungus that does this to ants. Quite terrifying actually. This is like a mass of droids seen in Episode 1, requiring a controller, only far less efficient.

Approved, pending secondary.

The idea of this is rather, well unorthodox, though I rather like that. Keep in mind that if these are utilized to bring back say...a rancor and utilized to full combat effectiveness I will not at all be pleased.

Approved, great concept.
