Minor Faction Ships

Change for Minor Factions owning ships:
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

OLD:

Minor factions can only have unique, PC captained ships between 401-1000m

NEW:

A minor faction may have a number of ships between 400 and 1000 m equal to its number of unique** members. If an excessive number of ships are reported, RPJs may decide on a reasonable amount based on active membership*

* At check in if they fail to maintain the active membership the size of the ships they have is reduced.
** Unique writers: The single account that would be in control of other characters/alts. If Timmy writes 3 characters in the Faction of Wonderland, he only counts as one and not three.

So, for clarification, the Panathan Empire has fourteen members.

So it can have a total of fourteen ships between 400 and 1000m in it's collection?

Another question: If said minor faction is within the sphere of influence of a major faction does it have to adhere to this rule, or is this rule just for minor factions that are not within a major faction?

If that makes sense.

Should I assume alts count towards "members?" I wouldn't personally alt-stack, but I'm just asking for general clarification.

I'm going to assume, though, that fleet numbers reflect the number of people signing in at monthly's, which is one per writer anyways.

I'll add the edit in.

*Unique Writers

Meaning if I'm in your faction with 3 characters I do not count for 3 characters - I count as 1. You are right [member="Countess Xyhn"] . This rule pertains to all Minor Factions. [member="Darth Vornskr"]

What if your minor faction is also your company group so that you have a consolidated place for information and jobs that have been requested? I am just curious because my company will rely heavily on ship amount and size that I have available.

I was more meaning that the ships wouldn't be used for anything but Company buisness which would be RP threads and the group would be the company. Kind of like what [member="Captain Larraq"] did with his company. Does that mean that the company fleet by tier system is no longer valid? Or does that mean that we are only to use that for Company buisness?

If the group was a resource for your company, then I'd assume you'd get the company limit of ships which IIRC is based on Tier.
Unless the company is actually property of the faction and not the other way around. Then you get no company fleet.
TL;DR: Don't fleet-stack.

Last time I asked around about company fleet + minor faction fleet, the answer was that both rules apply. Then again, at the time all that really implied was that your company got one or two extra Heavy Cruisers... which is really no big deal.

And remember, no matter how many pew, pew, pew ships your faction/company owns, you can still only (in most instances) bring a pre-arranged number of ships.

Also, that fancy company fleet?

If you suffer heavy casualties, you're either going to have the company knocked down a tier or lose all ships until you do a respectable dev thread to buy/make more.
