I've been involved in the last three invasions with the SJO. However, two of them, I was on the invading side. The TSE/SJO one I'm on the SJO team.
Going for story and having fun writing is the most important thing to me. I have truly enjoyed the invasions I've been in with the SJO. My posting partners and I have worked everything out clearly OOC to prevent any salt or drama coming into the picture. You all know my involvement is purely IC related and with a purpose behind it. No matter which side I'm on.
Personally I am against going minor, unless it is done very well and very carefully.
Yes, I am aware how loss after loss can sap the muse or inspiration to write. It happened with me when I was in the Dominion with Ra. First two rebellions they lost, then the puppy pile began against them. Invasion after invasion was lost. By then most of the original founders had already left and when the Dominion died there were only maybe three or four writers left loyal to the faction. I was one of them. The way the Dominion went out was done as well as it could have been, but I think it was done poorly. Just tossing up a white flag of surrender and folding.
That's NOT how the SJO should go minor if that is the route the majority of you want. Like it was suggested in Discord, it CAN be done well. Written into a grand story and going underground to basically become what the rebels were in the original trilogy. Taking what victories they could. Just remember if we go minor, there are not going to be any pure light side factions on the map. What happens then?
New people to the forum might look for one and only leave when they learn there isn't one. We lose the chance to take in that person and welcome them to this great faction.
My mind being said, if you want to talk to me further send me a message here or on Discord.
