From the Galactic Civil War to the Yuuzhan Vong Invasion, the Hutts have always been specialists in fiddling while the galaxy burns, and they plan to treat this new menace in the same way. As the terrifying forces of the Contingency confront the major powers of the galaxy, several influential Shell Hutts have decided to pass the time by hosting a grand sabaac tournament on the remote and strategically unimportant world of Nar Kaaga, the better to indulge uninterrupted. The full range of hedonism will be on display within the grand Hutt palace hosting the event, which aims to cater to the wealthy and uninhibited - though plenty of desperate fortune-seekers will try their hand at the games as well.
It will soon be revealed, however, that decadence and isolation are not effective barriers against the Contingency. The events on Nar Kaaga represent the purest proof of their belief that organics are honorless, vile, and morally bankrupt, providing them with the chance to make an example of the fate they hold that all flesh and blood deserves. And when the infamous droid-corrupting signal goes out, transforming dealer droids, security bots, and servant machines into deadly weapons, it will be accompanied by a massive local slave revolt among the species bound to serve the Shell Hutts - for the Contingency has promised the downtrodden deliverance from the decadence of their masters.
All too soon, what began as a pleasurable escape from the horrors assailing the galaxy will be transformed into a fight to survive...
Concept and Rules: Not everyone in the galaxy is a big karking hero. This is a thread for underworld characters who would like to get involved with the event without having their characters go looking for trouble - instead, trouble will come for them while they're running away from it. This isn't about saving the galaxy, it's about getting out alive to scrape by on the fringe another day. Survival is victory. As such, I plan for this to be a one-sided PvE thread, though I would welcome help with GMed opposition. I'd like to keep it at a relatively small group in order to keep posts moving; I'll allow six slots as a maximum, but I'd prefer not more than four.
