OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Sometimes the simple solution is the best solution and what is simpler than ramming speed?
The Minotaur-class epitomises this philosophy. In stark contrast to most Globex-built warships, the Minotaur approaches combat in an aggressively straightforward manner, albeit with some advanced additions, notably the holographic cloak. Instead of firing from afar using complex firing systems or unloading carefully-timed barrages of weapons fire at key systems, it turns towards a target, speeds up, and smashes it.
It is hardly unheard of for a Minotaur to be disabled before reaching a target, but its engineers got around that by adding countless anticoncussion projectors throughout the hull; as a result, even disabled Minotaurs tend to (more or less) stay in one piece - until hitting their target, anyway.

- The Minotaur-class is generally meant to be sort of reusable, but some commanders opt to fill every available compartment with explosives, volatile fuel, corrosive chemicals, drugged-up marines, or (if they are particularly unhinged) an infestation of Sithspawn.
- The Minotaur-class can be fabricated in several different sizes because sometimes you need a ram-cruiser, not a ram-corvette. Monstrously large ramships the size of Star Destroyers have been produced on occasion, usually with a specific goal in mind, e.g., ramming a Golan.
- The Minotaur-class' hull is honeycombed by anticoncussion projectors, greatly enhancing its structural integrity; the projectors are paired with emergency generators, increasing the likelihood that vessels of the class will remain largely intact even if gutted by weapons fire. Combined with the persistence of momentum in space combat, even a disabled Minotaur can prove lethally effective.
- The Minotaur-class is equipped with a Subdrive, allowing it to close in on targets with surprising ease; as hitting a target while the Subdrive is online generally results in much of the force generated by the impact 'bouncing back', the devices are usually disabled on the approach.
- Many vessels of the Minotaur-class are equipped with a holographic cloaking device. These devices do exactly nothing to conceal the location of the vessel and very little to obstruct targeting but can trick rival commanders into thinking they are facing a conventional adversary.
- Here's Johnny: Most commanders prefer to keep their ships outside other ships' insides. The AI piloting the Minotaur-class does not.
- Get Back Here: The Minotaur-class has no way of hurting anything that's both faster than it and wise enough to fly away.
