Intent: New cybernetic line-up, already have some buyers set up. TLDR: Amped up fusion cutter in your arm/leg.
Development Thread: None
Manufacturer: Mirage Cybernetics Company
Model: MIR-200 Micro Fusion Disintegration Blade Prosthetic
Affiliation: Selective Open Market
Modularity: None - The limb is wholly dedicated to the storage and operation of the blade
Production: Minor
Material: Plasteel, Durasteel, Ceramics, Fusion Batteries
Classification: Blade
Size: One-Handed
Length: Human/Humanoid limb length, Blade - 0.9 meters at the arm, 1.1 meters at the leg
Weight: Approximately 140% original limb weight - you will pack some extra pounds!
Special Features: Emits a fusion cutting blade when active.
Description:
Once again, Mirage has taken innovation to a whole new meaning and drawn inspiration from Ri'ess Regal's late, great, mutually lethal Moonlight Blades. Unlike the Moonlight Blade, which utilized volatile and easily compromised fuel to power an array of channeled torches, the MFD Blade utilizes a more direct method of fusion cutting previously used industrially to quarry rock and mine tunnels. The system uses a micro fusion core to generate a more intense fusion cutting edge, capable of chewing through most conventional metals with ease. These blades deploy from an internal housing in two parts that conjoin into a single emitter externally, and have a straight full-to-empty duration of five minutes at 'normal' temperature. They will automatically shut off after fifteen seconds to prevent overheating, or if a critical internal heat that might compromise the prosthetic is reached through other means or conditions. Due to heat displacement, energy requirements and storage space, the system has limited use and is not modifiable with third-party add-ons. It also poses a substantial risk to the user, especially one who is reckless or improperly trained.
The limb itself is not particularly strong or durable, being akin to standard issue imperial stormtrooper armor in protection and having only marginally better lift strength than its organic predecessor. Arms must be installed from the shoulder or forearm on, though legs can be installed from as low as at or beneath the knee joint. Units are made for any of the four limbs. Only the fingertips and key points along the hand are fully tactile, indicating the cybernetic prosthetic was not designed with simulation or comfort in mind; the bright side to this being there is almost no pain from damage incurred. Again, an individual can and likely -WILL- injure or dismember themselves if the cybernetic is used improperly and handled with anything but the utmost care.
Not Civilian-marketable in nine out of ten charted systems. Fully available to militants, law enforcement and government-licensed individuals where valid. Depleted micro-fusion cores are considered hazardous waste and must be disposed of in the proper locations.
And no... it's not lightsaber-resistant/deflective... that's not a fight you're gonna win.
