PRODUCTION INFORMATION

 • Manufacturer: Mirage Cybernetics, Andromeda Incorporated.

 • Model: Mk.I BTI (binary translation implant).

 • Affiliation: Open-Market

 • Modularity: Optional speech production nodule.

 • Production: Mass-Produced..

 • Material: Cybernetics components, synth-organic protective gelatin, various trace metals.
SPECIAL FEATURES

 • Binary translator: Ever wanted to know what the astromech is saying? Having trouble learning binary? The new Binary Translation Implant (BTI) from Mirage translates binary into a language you understand.

 • Tiny: Cutting edge cybernetic technology allows the new Mirage BTI to reach new levels of microtechnology. This has lead to a smaller, less cumbersome, and much more discrete cybernetic piece than its predecessors.

 • Synth-Organic Gel: Protected in a soft pocket of gelatine, the implant is less likely to be rejected, increasing comfort of wear.

 • OPTIONAL: For an extra fee, you can also get a speech production nodule! This small chip is magnetically attached near the jaw and ads a binary overlay to your speech, improving your communicative competence with your android friends!
Strengths:

 • Lingo: Translates Binary to a language of your choice!

 • Micro: The implant is so small it is barely noticeable. This is handy for modesty or just to save space for more enhancements!

 • Migraine be Gone!: Less chance of rejection and less headaches leaves for a more comfortable experience.

 • Optional speech nodule1: Unlike the main implant, this nodule can be removed for comfort.

 • Optional Speech Nodule2: Translates and places a binary overlay on your speech and thereby improves communication with unfamiliar programmes.
Weaknesses:

 • No off-switch: Due to its small size, it is always on. This can be bothersome unless precautions are made.

 • EMP: An EMP blast will short circuit the cybernetic implant, this is a painful ordeal and the reparations may be costly. Be careful.

 • Optional, Speech Nodule1: Unlike the main implant, this can fall off.

 • Optional, Speech Nodule2: While it improves your ability to speak with droids, it does not cure miscommunication. Watch your words.
DESCRIPTION
Ever wanted to speak Binary, but never had the time to learn? Well here is a treat for you! Under new management, Mirage Cybernetics is proud to present the Mirage BTI.

This handy little device is planted near the ear, either on the inside or on the outside of the cranium, depending on the customer’s preference. Its sub-dermal feelers rest near your primary hearing organs and pick up the vibrations. It then quickly translates these vibrations into a predetermined language the patient understands which is then projected into the brain’s perception centres.

In effect, it translates the binary and sends the resulting information directly to you! And yes, it does speak Bocce.

For a small additional fee, you can also get a speech production nodule implanted. This is very handy for ship crew and large-scale farm hands who come across many machines of potentially different make in their career. The speech production nodule takes information your BTI picks up from cranial vibrations resulting from speech, then translates it to an inaudible binary overlay. This allows you to more accurately convey ideas to your most and least favourite computer!

The nodule is attached magnetically through a sub-dermal magnet patch which attracts the corresponding polarity of the node. The magnetic fields are much too weak to create interference with the Mirage BTI or any other Mirage brand cybernetics. Yet, they are strong enough to make a comfortable seal.

Sub-dermal and cranial enhancements have previously had a major issue of inducing migraines or taking up precious cranial space. But with Mirage’s revolutionary new design and the soft gelatin packaging, these issues are vastly reduced! This creates a much more comfortable experience for any Mirage customer.

And that is what Mirage is here for: Your comfort and convenience.
