- Resilience - The use of redundant non-dimetris circuitry in the activation loops and reinforced durplast around sensitive electronic components makes the Mirage Starlight highly resistant to the deleterious effects of cortosis and Ion/EMP discharges. The weapon is also capable of operating underwater. Finally, a Fyrirdögun casing imparts the hilt with a strong resistance to disabling or disarming strikes.
- Crystal Power - The Litr Gryttr crystal greatly assists Oola with resisting direct effects of the Force. It also strengthens and solidifies her connection to the Force, making the process of harnessing her powers easier and more efficient.
- Heat Shock - The Adegan lens and the fusion shunt work together to impart the Mirage Starlight with a hotter, more powerful blade. Thus, its blade can cut through materials much faster than that of a typical lightsaber.
- Silent - Since the Ghostfire crystal only serves a secondary function, it does not impart the full range of its effects upon the blade. The only exception is the fact that the blade is almost completely silent, optimizing its potential lethality in surprise attacks. This feature is further enhanced by the Taozin integrated into the hilt, which has the capability to blur or cloud the senses of a Force wielder to varying degrees, potentially hindering the effectiveness of battle precognition, danger sense, and similar abilities as pertaining to the lightsaber and its wielder.
- Attune Lock - Oola has developed a very strong attunement with her lightsaber and its crystals. Thus, any Force-user attempting to seize control of the weapon—whether telekinetically or via some other method of the Force—must contest against the combined willpowers of the crystals and Oola herself.
- Nullification - Void Stone can dampen or nullify the Force augmentation provided by the Litr Gryttr crystal. Ysalamir can negate it entirely.
- Severed - In turn, Oola’s connection to the Mirage Starlight and its crystals may be compromised if she herself is cut off from the Force. This will effectively limit her control over the weapon’s functions and will make her favored telekinetic lightsaber combat techniques far more difficult (if not impossible) to execute.
- Material Challenges - While the Mirage Starlight has some enhancements to produce a hotter blade, lightsaber-resistant materials the likes of beskar, phrik, and ultrachrome will naturally present challenges of varying degrees to the weapon, depending on the material in question, its thickness, and a host of other factors.
- Unconventional Weaponry - The Mirage Starlight is unable to deflect, reflect, or truly defend against sonic blasts, shockwaves, particle beams, paddle beams, or slugs.
Constructed after her promotion to the rank of Squire, Oola’s lightsaber was built off of schematics provided by First United Astral Engineering’s sabersmith laboratory division. However, Oola performed the construction by herself, while also incorporating a number of personal touches in the design to gear it towards her aesthetic taste and fighting style. In this regard, Oola optimized her lightsaber for use in telekinetic lightsaber combat techniques.
The lightsaber has two crystals—a primary crystal and a secondary crystal. Both crystals impart different effects upon the weapon. However, the crystals have no effect on the blade’s color—producing a white-hued plasma beam blade owing to a dyed lens, thereby matching the aesthetic of the lightsaber with that of the Imperial Crusaders. The blade burns at roughly twenty-six thousand degrees centigrade, largely owing to the fusion shunt and Adegan lens, both of which serve to produce a hotter, more powerful blade.
In the process of constructing her lightsaber, Oola meditated and bonded with its crystals, producing a strong connection to the weapon. Upon completion, she christened it as the Mirage Starlight, before spending more than a day meditating over her lightsaber in order to solidify her attunement with it.
