- Counters Force Stealth: The mirror enhances the ability of anyone to resist or counter Force-based stealth techniques, but only when the subject is viewed through the mirror. Even non-force users can break weak or easily countered effects, while any force user recieves a significant boost their ability to resist the effect(s).
Weaknesses:
- Difficult to use: It's a small hand mirror, maybe four inches by two and a half - you can use to aim a shot if your a trickshooter, but you couldn't use it to fight in melee.
- Counted by technology: This artifact does nothing to counter a mundane disguise or stealth field, let alone a personal cloaking device.
- Sith Alchemy: As a Sith Artifact, it can be affected by strong lightside effects, including being damaged or destroyed by Force Light.
- Force-nullifiers: the presence of void stones, ysalamirs and other Force-nullifiers will render it nothing more than an ordinary mirror.
Created by Er'in Tenel as a gift for Srina Talon after the events of Maramere, this artifact was created using the shattered and burnt ash of Darth Metus' victims, vitrified into glass and then encased in silver - this touch wasn't strictly needed, but it helped focus the effect Er'in wanted and provided a sound reminder.
It takes the form of an elegant silver chased mirror, which appears perfectly normal. However when it is used to look upon force-based deception effects (hiding dark or light side resonances, force cloak, force stealth and the like) it enhances the holders natural ability to penetrate such effects markedly, to the point where a non-force user will be able to see through padawan / apprentice level effects, while an actual force user with any training will be able to penetrate at least disguises of their own level of training, often more.
The manner in which it reveals the 'truth' is a little disturbing - the glass seems to fragment and crack, letting tiny wisps of smoke escape, they obscure the mirror for a moment, and when the image reforms the 'disguise' appears as smoke surrounding the actual truth of the situation.
