Strengths:
Rejuvenation: The Reservoir catches and stores excess psychic energy from the wearer, storing it in a specialized battery that holds the charge until it is expended. When released back into the body, the psychic energy heals wounds and reinvigorates (In Karlie's case it functions like an emergency dose of insulin) The normal way is to simply have the energy accumulate by way of sensors in the wristband, though if a button is pressed two ultra flexible mechanical feelers with attached barbs snake out of the device, and if they find a conscious or unconscious target, they can be used to drain the target, though this might require ambush tactics. People attacked with the Vampiric modules may be rendered unconscious, almost certainly sluggish, but never unable to make a full recovery. Modules must be inserted into the neck to work. This technology comes from advances in an old design created by Nine from the now-defunct workshop which used psychic energy drawn from the user to enhance the effects from the weapon. The battery is essentially based on Nine Lives own biological feeding processes, simulated to produce various effects.
Defensive: The Reservoir not only has the ability to heal, but to defend as well. It can generate a personal energy shield that blocks out all telepathic phenomena. This shield can last a half hour, during which Karlie will be immune to all but the absolute strongest psychic assault, and even most of that too will be blocked. This is due to the fact that 'Psychic Energy', in this case essentially consists what Nine herself feeds on, thought and emotion. In the earliest design to feature this concept, the battery drained the user at a highly accelerated rate, leaving them sluggish and with memory loss. Though this has been corrected in this new design, it means it must passively collect from its owner or find a victim to top off. This is due to the fact that its internal architecture can mimic the effects of a Force user shielding their mind against direct psychic attack, since the raw psychic energy seeths with echoes of thoughts and emotions from either the user or from whom the user stole the energy from, combined with technology derived from the ancient Force Mask, makes for an extremely defensive psychic field
It can also be used as a painless, non-lethal stun ray that has up to nine charges and has a chance of causing temporary paralysis. This is due to a dedicated nodule that mimics Nine's ability to discharge psychic bolts
Stealth: Its accumulated charge can be used to render one temporarily unable to be sensed with the Force, for about eight minutes. The same micro-technology derived from the Force mask, along with the channeled psychic energy, allows it to simulate the effects of a Force User hiding their presence
Hot line: If Karlie is in danger, she can send a signal so long as Vera is in proximity to receive it and usually Vera, or someone with close ties, will come to lend assistance
Weaknesses:
One or the other: The wrist can only do one of its functions at a time, not all at once.
Accumulation wait time: Its a very slow working prototype. It requires six hours to collect enough psychic charge to use its features without resorting to the vampiric system built in.
Ion: Ion weapons or disturbances can block it from working, this is because with all the advanced features Nine was simply not able to add Ionic protection to the device. Also, it is not a true force embued object, and is near purely electronic in function
Not standard protection: Its energy shield only blocks telepathic attacks. It is useless against anything else.
Battery burn out: After using the stealth feature the device will automatically power down for a half hour before booting back up to let the power source cool down

During Karlie's stay aboard Castle Morpheus, her wrist device, which regulated the insulin in her body was confiscated. As Nine is from another era, many of the devices she encounters seem almost magical to her. Karlie's device was no exception. Immediately becoming fascinated with the device, Nine made detailed blue prints of its internals and immediately set to work on modifying them to her own ends, though also to the benefit of Karlie, as the device will work on both of them. A prototype of a device Nine plans for mass production, the Mark One Defensive Psychic Reservoir System collects the excess psychic energy of an individual (Or by removing it from another by two tiny, ultra flexible prongs to drain another individual) its architecture based off of Nine's biology, slowly collecting energy for it to use, for it to heal and rejuvenate her body (As well as Karlie's) or to help defend against psychic attack or hide from psychic threats, or even painlessly temporarily stun and paralyze an individual. The device is held back by battery issues, as well as the vast periods of time required to actually accumulate a charge, but is an undeniable asset. For Nine to actually give such a device with a vampiric function to Karlie, indicates the favor her "daughter' Vera has for her, as well as the possibility Nine is making a move to offer Karlie a place in House Li-Ves
