OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
The backbone of the Illyrian Royal Army are the infantry. To protect the infantry and preserve their lives in combat, Dynetech Industries crafted an advanced armor system. This particular armor system provides commando-level systems to the main-line infantry, making them more adaptable, mobile, and dependable in sustained combat. The armor is mostly made of a light plasteel polymer to allow for ease of movement and lower attrition of stamina, however to keep the armor's resistance capability up it was given a thin durasteel coating. Since durasteel retains its greatest properties even in smaller, thinner plates it was the best choice for a light but durable armor system. What makes this set of armor an armor system is the number of electronic systems designed to aid the soldier in combat. A filtration system, communication link, & heads-up display are provided to make the negotiation of terrain and aid in a hostile/tactical environment. Like with all armor systems there are short comings. The armor was not reinforced to defend against sonic-based attacks. While it will provide minor protection to the wearer, through the padded helmet it is ultimately at the mercy of sonic weaponry. It's armor plating is also too thin to slow down the blade of a lightsaber, although minor cuts or abrasions may not penetrate, any direct strike will cut straight through the armor's durasteel plates and the less durable plasteel beneath.
- Intent: The Dynetech Mark I Life Preserver Armor System was created to be the main body of defense & tactical reinforcement in the battlefield.

- Light: Due to the plasteel that makes up more than 80% of this armor system it is incredibly light for how much protection it provides the wearer.
- Mobility: The lightweight material used in conjunction with flexible, lightly armored joints makes for a mobility friendly armor set that does not restrict or hinder movements.
- Life Preserving: The suit has four points where hidden needles can inject a gradual amount of bacta into the blood-stream. This allows for the bodies slow healing system to greatly increase, although the injection can only be used once per engagement as the armor will have to be reloaded with more bacta.
- Resistant: The light coating of Durasteel on the armor's outer plates provide the wearer with a resistance to the elements, energy & kinetic based attacks, and hardens the armor's systems against more indirect ION-based attacks.
- Lightsabers: The enemy to most forms of armor, lightsabers are capable of penetrating this armor with relative ease.
- Sonic Attacks: Weapons with a sonic nature can penetrate this armor's defensive systems, playing havoc with the HUD and reaching the wearer as well.
- Expensive: The Mk I LPA is a sophisticated piece of equipment. It is advanced for a mainline infantry armor and as such it is incredibly expensive to repair. In-field repairs are basically impossible as the entire armor system is tied into a central network via a complicated system of wiring & circuitry.
