SPECIAL FEATURES
- Nanotech Solid-State Transponders
- Micro-Detonite Explosive
- Variable Delay Fuse
- Versatile Deployment Method
Trailblazer: Showers area with a 15m cloud of miniaturized Solid-State Transponder nanomachines that can adhere themselves to (or even be inhaled by) the target. Clusters of these nanomachines intermittently emit a signal every 90 seconds that can be tracked over vast distances.
Versatile Delivery: In addition to the standard throw deployment, this grenade can additionally be loaded and launched via a suitable grenade launcher.
WEAKNESSES
Got A Lock: While finding and detecting the exact frequency of the transponders operate on isn’t exactly child’s play, it also isn’t exactly out of the realm of possibility. Always assume that if you can track a signal, conceivably so could someone else - including your opponent.
Easy to Remove: Nanomachines can be easily neutralized by EMP/ION technology or even through the simple act of deep cleaning.
Limited Window: Transponders remain active for approximately 72 hours before becoming inert.
Limited Range: Signal can only be tracked over planetary distances and requires specialised equipment to do so, making it unsuitable for tracking space bound targets.
DESCRIPTION
Based on technology being pioneered in the civilian sector to plot the migratory patterns of the Tauntaun, the MK1 Bloodhound is designed to provide any military force with an easy and innovative way of tracking adversaries across large planetary distances. It achieves this by utilizing a small detonite charge to release a small opaque cloud over a fifteen meter radius that quickly settles. To the enemy, this can easily be confused as a simple smoke grenade or even a ‘dud’ munition. Of course, unbeknownst to them, that very same cloud contains a multitude of miniaturized nanomachines that quickly adhere themselves to anything in the target area.
Admittedly, that doesn’t sound too impressive on its own, yet you should know that those very same nanomachines are specially designed to work in concert with each other, effectively creating a solid-state transponder that emits a signal every 90 seconds. A signal that lasts 72 hours and, with the right specialized equipment at your disposal, can be readily tracked over planetary distances. Now that makes it sound a little more up there.
Ideal for tracking insurgents, political agitators, unruly mobs or even the comings and goings of that wayward tooka your wife so adores. The possible applications are only limited by your imagination and your credit balance.
