MLSS-2 (Factory Draft) - Opinions Wanted

INTENT:
The intention of the MLSS-II is to upgrade the inferior MLSS-I that by any standards is bulky and rushed in development. Common armour utilised by militaries far exceed the subpar quality of the MLSS-I. The MLSS-II is an attempt to compete in quality with other major products.

DEVELOPMENT THREAD:
Laboratory Six follows the story of Manue Bonetti, a tech officer working on Orto Plutonia as part of the MLSS-II Program in it's final stages.

MANUFACTURER:
Silver Engineering

MODEL:
MLSS-II (Mobile Life Support System)

AFFILIATION:
Exclusively for Jedi Master Hasjo Hallu of the Silver Jedi Order.

MODULARITY:
The suit cannot be altered or modulated in any form.

PRODUCTION:
Unique

MATERIAL:
Wintrium, Titanium, Plasteel, Laminanium, Thermal Gel

DESCRIPTION:
The armour is comprised of a series of pieces rather than a whole connecting suit. Each vital limb is protected by multi-layered plating. The initial plating is made of Laminanium, a strong alloy that is capable of repairing itself. The secondary layer is Wintrium, aged at one-hundred years. While strong, it is not yet strong enough to block direct lightsaber attacks but can absorb glancing blows.

The suit is unable to be worn by anyone else. In extreme circumstances that the suit is stolen without critical damage, it is able to be adorned by a Nautolan of similar body shape. Thus requiring the Nautolan in question to have it's headtresses severed 3/4ths from the skull, including a severed left hand from the wrist. The person in question will also require two insertion points for the apparatuses to attach to the lungs and secondary heart. In theory, it is extremely unlikely that anyone else will ever wear the suit. The helmet holds a heads up display that feed vitals from the other systems throughout the suit. This includes the following: heart beats per minute, breathing conditioning, oxygen levels and blood pressure. Two apparatuses control the users breathing and pumping of blood from the secondary heart. This is done by the bodysuit which utilise small incisions in the chest, connecting via wires to a cybernetic lung and heart replacement.

Due to a lack of protection in all joint areas, it allows for a greater degree of flexibility than it's predecessor, the MLSS-I. Although this also provides a weak spot for assailants to abuse these points for attack. The underlaying suit cannot withstand consistent attack, with the bodysuits titanium nanocomposite acting as an emergency defensive plate for the hydration systems and apparatuses. It is unable to hold against harassment for long. Glancing blows and grazes from slugthrowers and blasters is the maximum amount of damage it can hold before being pierced. A full frontal assault from either of those weapons or a lightsaber would leave the user severely injured, with the potential of system damage.

As the suit is powered, it has the ability to be shutdown by an overload. Whether this is from an electrical discharge by power couplings, force lightning or droid disable. If the suit is overloaded, a system failure will occur in which the apparatuses that regulate the users heart and lungs will fail. This will leave the user unable to breath, and the secondary heart unable to pump blood. Though the user may die from lack of oxygen, the primary hearts is still capable of pumping blood but blood pressure is drastically reduced. Such low blood pressure can result in dizziness, weakness, unsteadiness, blurred vision, fatigue, light-headedness, or orthostatic hypotension. While the suit provides him outstanding defensive plating, assaults targeted at overloading his systems or attacking his open spots provide ample room to get even.

CLASSIFICATION:
Life Support / Combat Armour

WEIGHT:
45kg

QUALITY:
Class Nine (9).

OTHER FEATURES:
Titanium Nanocomposite Hydration Bodysuit: Sandwiched between the external armor and Hasjo himself, is a thick black bodysuit. This suit primarily functions to continuously maintain body temperature and hydration to the amphibian. The bodysuit is comprised of two layers. The outer layer is made of grain sized titanium plates measured in nanometers. This is to provide flexibility and strength. The second layer is simple plasteel, providing the hydration system is kept in check. The hydration system itself is squashed within the plasteel layer. The titanium layer aids as protection against ballistic attacks, with the hydration system within the plasteel providing a source of heat resistance. The hydration system utilises thermal gel to regulate the bodies temperature. The gel acts as a means of safety in the event that the wearer is subjected to a high velocity impact. The gel will harden and absorb the kinetic energy.

Pressure Sealed: The suit is pressure sealed to maintain Hasjo Hallu's life support systems are not interrupted, whether he is underwater or in space. Though in such environments, he has a limited source of oxygen the suit can supply before zeroing. This has removed the Nautolans natural ability to swim underwater, as his life support system cannot function longer than sixty minutes underwater.

Automatic Bacta Injectors: In the event that the suit punctured, in which case, it is very likely Hasjo himself has also been injured. The automatic bacta injectors inject bacta into the area of the suit that has been punctured. Supplying emergency medical aid before more appropriate help can be found by professionals.

Cryogenic Power Cell: A Cryogenic Power Cell is located at the top of the back, below the shoulder blades. While commonly mistaken as some sort of jet pack, this cell powers the suits onboard systems such as the apparatuses that keep Hasjo alive, the heads-up-display, bacta injectors and movement enhancers. The cell is constructed as part of the suit itself, and is relatively small. Due to it's location, it impedes on flexibility to a moderate degree.

Movement Enhancer: Located in the biceps, forearms, thighs and calves pieces, the enhancers boost the movement applied by the user. This has made the suit difficult to adjust to initially, with over-calculations on the users part proving to be hazardous. Due to the movement enhancers, the user is required to take extreme caution at all times to avoid hurting oneself and others. The movement enhancers act as a means to allow more fluid and easy-going movement in the suit, the extreme weight would otherwise make movement difficult and tiring.

make sure you have the link to the dev thread and preform one getting the Wintrium as it is something only Ashin/Jon will no doubt know off the top of their head

As Syn said make sure you have a dev thread for the Wintrium. I know it's powered, but at the same time 210 kg is a ridiculous weight for an armor. To give you an idea this is a picture of a man at 200 kg and 100 kg respectively:

Even being a powered set of armor the realistic chance of Hasjo having any sort of grace or speed to his movement, or even moving at all, is extremely slim. I know your previous armor was approved at like, 120 kg, but it really shouldn't have been and anyone who knows their physics will use that to their advantage. A much more realistic weight would be somewhere around 30-50kg, still very very heavy, yet something that won't crush you by putting it on and something that can still be sufficiently powered.

I'm confused on why you have a fusion reactor powering the suit. Sure, it gets you the power, but couldn't you use something that's less powerful of an explosive when rigged to explode? You don't really need a huge amount of power for this suit anyway as all you're powering are a few motors to boost your movement, the Bacta Injectors, and perhaps a comlink(btw, put a comlink in there) or other miscellaneous devices.

Lastly, the bacta injectors. Bacta doesn't grow on trees, with most of the Bacta in the Galaxy belonging to the Fringe or Omega Pyre. I'd make mention that the Bacta Injectors are expensive to keep filled.

Thanks for the advice on the weight, I'm basing the weight off other armour systems from an alternate sci-fi-verse, so I'll be editing this.

The fusion reactor is only very slim, it's relatively small. It just powers the systems as said, and the apparatuses that maintain the breathing, beating of the secondary heart and blood pressure. Do you have any ideas for alternate power systems to utilise?

I haven't required to use a bacta injector yet for the MLSS-I, so they're not frequently used or requiring to be refilled.

Generic Power Paks are noted to be divided into different classes, with some powering blasters and some powering vehicles. You could easily handwave making a custom-sized one inbetween those two sizes to power your suit and say that every hundred thousand miles or so(figuratively) you switch it out for a new one. You could also play around with say, a scaled down Cryogenic Powercell or something similar but Lore is somewhat sketchy on such things.
