- Repulsorlifts - not used for sustainable flight in gravity, but in bursts for mid-air course correction, or massive leaps.
- High quality servos - all of the joints and muscles are very fast and strong to accommodate close-quarters combat.
- Beskar blades - teeth and claws are made out of solid beskar to rip and tear enemies apart at close range.
- Harpoon and Towcable - perhaps the only “ranged weapon” it has, it serves as a means to allow these dogs to latch on to jetpacked troopers in space while in flight.
- Central Command - can take orders from a remote AI like the Angel Navis Operating System, or an approximation to a Central Control Computer. It can also take orders from the AI in a combat suit if the droid is assigned to it.
- Sophisticated Droid Brain - unlike its predecessor, when this droid is not connected to a central command, the droid can safely rely on its own processor.
- Magetic foot pads - for sticking to metal surfaces when there is no gravity.
- Highly Mobile - fast, strong servos, burst-configured repulsorlifts, and a harpoon and towcable give this dog incredible speed and agility when on the ground.
- Forward protection - the armour and shielding on these droids is heavily focused on the forward arc to help the droid survive an aggressive advancement on enemy forces.
- Brawler - all of the offensive capabilities of this droid are almost exclusively point-blank range, with the harpoon and towcable being the exception. This droid is programmed to be devastating at this range.
- Hound’s nose - thanks to the Searchlight Sensor Suite, this version of the Garmr Battle Dog is capable of finding hidden, or stealthy objectives.
- Comms Cut-Off - when jamming is used and line-of-site is cut off from the source of command, the dog is on its own and cannot coordinate with its owner.
- Overshot - the rear arc of the dog-droid is significantly weaker than the forward arc. If the droid is coaxed into overshooting an opponent in its charge, the droid can be much more easily defeated.
- No range - teeth and claws made of beskar constitute the only offensive weapons on this droid. The Harpoon and tow-cable could be also considered, but are easily countered in combat.
- Mute mutt - this droid dog is not equipped with a vocabulator, so if it is not digitally linked with the individual that it is trying to communicate with, it will struggle to be understood.
This is a modified, upgraded version of the Garmr Battle Dog Mk1. A number of individuals managed to get their hands on some of the original models after the events in Threats of the past. Each of the acquired battle dogs was updated with a Searchlight Sensor Suites and reinforced armour. They are reliable companions in a fight, make great bodyguards, and are ideal in a pursuit mission profile.
Willow & Ivy received theirs after bounty hunters came to try and steal them back for the Hutts. It is for this reason that the twins received two of these upgraded dogs, to reflect their own dual nature. The two dogs were affectionately named Chappie and Chopper.
Daro Roz’yrn managed to recover the older model dog he had almost lost in the battle to save the twins. Normally, a soldier would scrap the damaged dog and requisition a new one from a quartermaster, but Daro couldn’t help but feel a little guilty about the way he sacrificed his dog during the battle — even though it was just a droid. So he took the disabled heap to a repair shop and got it fixed up and upgraded. He named his Hal.
Karkosuchus scored his droid when he was making his escape from Damascus Station. When he was getting away, after a truly stunning display of might and skill, his eyes fell on a military storage crate full of these droids. Thinking that it wouldn’t hurt to make off with a little “unaccounted-for” loot, he scooped one up and then completed his escape. He then took it to the engineers in the Kraken Coalition, and got them to modify it so that it suited his needs as a bounty hunter. The droid was then named Borgini.
Andrew Lonek got his dog from an emergency supply locker on a ship during the aforementioned events. After the battle was over, he was permitted to keep it as an award for his efforts. He took his dog to Dar’Manda Industries and had it upgraded to bolster his combat loadout. He named his dog Rocko.
Isidor Justeene got his when a patrol dog snuck aboard his ship, attempting to investigate the vessel in a random inspection. The ships defences easily disabled the droid and it was stuck in the cargo bay, completely forgotten. When Isidor discovered the dog on his ship, he took it to get repaired and upgraded, unsure of where it had come from. He chose to name it Eitan.
