STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
Tactical Genius
Drybis is a tactical genius. He has a very keen military mind and tactical ability similar to those of infamous tacticians such as Grand Admiral Thrawn and Grand Moff Morlish Veed. He usually studies his opponents before he even meets them, a similarity to the tactics of Thrawn, who Drybis greatly admires, he is somewhat an idol of Drybis. He has bolstered his genius by his well read studies, especially into the art and history of war & combat. In addition, he has led numerous space battles and commanded several fleets in important & significant engagements. This is obviously a factor of how he went from a green Ensign to a Moff in just about 10 years. For example, his actions in the Velmor system, led him to be promoted to Vice Admiral and he began commanding his first sub fleet soon afterwards. Over his short but successful career, he has proven his tactical ability time and time again. This tactical & strategical genius was noticed and even respected by some of his superiors over the course of his career. Overall, he truly is a tactical & strategical genius in every sense of the word.
Ambitious
Ambition is one of his motivators and something that has helped his climb up the ladder of the command chain in such a short time. He is very ambitious and will let very little stand in his way of fulfilling that ambition. Even in his short career, his ambition still knows no bounds, well maybe some slight bounds. His ambition will probably not end here, but only time will tell where it takes him.
Well Read
Drybis is extremely well read. He has studied war, combat, conflicts, uprisings, politics, governments, events, and even the history of the Jedi & Sith. He has gained part of his character from this wealth of knowledge, for example his admiration & respect for Grand Admiral Thrawn. He has studied his deeds, battles, accolades, and especially his tactics. If you examine closely, you can see traces of Thrawn's own tactics resembled in the strategies of Lyken. He is although an inspiration to be sure, but Drybis is still his own man. Due to his adoration of Thrawn and his vast knowledge has also led him to be a strong supporter for the inclusion of Near-Human, Humanoid, and Sentient species into the military command. Especially species like the Chiss & Pantorans. Drybis's large historical knowledge is also backed up by his knowledge of the current galaxy which he probably employs far more often. He tries to know as much as he can because you never know when the vast knowledge catalog might be required.
Leadership
Lyken's other key attribute, is his ability to lead and command respect. His leadership is well known and acknowledged by most. This is part of how he commands his fleets effectively and why they are usually very efficient. This has aided in his rapid ascent and has served him well. He does not command with unemotional sternness that could be respected, it is not that kind of leadership. He gains his leadership ability by engaging with not just his fellow officers, but with his subordinates, and even the custodial & medical staff. I wouldn't say he is overtly nice, but he has a way to command respect among his people while still being a lenient leader. Not too lenient, but lenient enough to gain admirers & disciples. In fact, many of the younger officers who have served under him, view him as a mentor figure for themselves. His leadership ability allows him to command effectively and precisely, while gaining the strong loyalty of his subordinates & crew.
Not into Intrigue
Drybis is not one for political scheming or plotting, he prefers to face an opponent or an issue directly. This is something that will be more of an issue as he settles into his position as a Moff. Not having finesse in his position could lead to long standing issues that cannot be reversed.
Submissive to Superiors
Despite being ambitious and quite strong willed, Drybis usually will submit to the orders of his superiors. This is something that will increase if anything, due to the fact that his superiors are now Sith and high ranking Imperials, which means he will be more receptive and more submissive. Drybis will only disobey an order if it either utterly wrong or it is treasonous. Otherwise, he follows orders precisely to the instruction of those who have given it.
APPEARANCE:
Drybis Lyken is a young 28 year old human male with short brown hair who is of a medium build and in the beginning of his relative psychical prime. Standing at 6 feet, Drybis is a typical average human, but it is his mind not his body that makes him special. He usually wears his Naval uniform to basically everything, unless it is either the coronation ball or a situation that requires he change his outfit. He does have a set of light armor that he could use, but he rarely wears it, even during naval engagements.
BIOGRAPHY:
Drybis Lyken was born on the planet Telos in 834 ABY. His parents were a local administrator and a high-end restaurant manager. It was apparent early on that Drybis had a very sharp intellect. He graduated at 18 from the Telos Naval Academy. He was posted to a cruiser as an Ensign on Ventooine. He rapidly rose through the ranks, being made a commander the following year. His rapid rise slowed as he served under several bureaucratic superiors for the next few years. After the fall of the Core Worlds, the One Sith were in disarray, but Drybis was serving under Lord Admiral
Thaelius
, who decided to push forward instead. Eventually he would arrive at the First Order. Drybis left soon before Ordo joined the First Order and traveled back to the reformed TSE to join its ranks once again. In 857, after serving in many wars and fleet battles, and after his actions in the Velmor system, he was promoted to Vice Admiral and began commanding his first sub fleet. He would go on to be promoted again and command several fleets over the course of time. In 862 ABY, he received the prestigious honor of being named a Sith-Imperial Moff. He will probably admit that he is excited for the next stage of his career, however he would also admit that he misses the thrill of naval command and wouldn't be upset if he was transferred to Grand Admiral. As of now, he is preparing for something he doesn't particularly love, which is the more administrative & governmental role that he has now accepted. He will still however perform at his best and execute his duties with the utmost efficiency. Whatever is next for Drybis, he awaits its arrival eagerly.
