Rationale: After spending much time managing a profitable business of his own, at a time when Max was much younger, Max's father sold off his business, creating a large investment base along with his inheritance. Mon Calamari Shipyards needed new management, especially in its civilian production. Max's father applied his experience and favourable connections towards Mon Calamari Shipyards, and acquired the position as head of the civilian production section. This was made easier by the recently increased amount of non-Mon Calamari employees working in management positions, who were also hired in the hopes of increasing profits. A majority of the shares was swiftly claimed by him, and after some time the few shareholders reluctant to relinquish theirs did so. Careful work was then spent in placing supporters in higher positions, who could be used further on.
When it was clear that the military section of Mon Calamari Shipyards was paling in comparison to its civilian counterpart, Max's father was asked to manage the company as a whole. He refused to do so unless the entire company was made public, along with sly threats of the best managers leaving if they this did not occur. Now, finally achieving whole ownership of Mon Calamri Shipyards, but nevertheless tired after his this career in business and over-stressed, he passed it on to his son, Max. The company functioned well for a short period, before Max became a Moff in the First Order. Seizing the opportunity, he was now able to negotiate a bolstering ofthe company with the industry of the First Order.

Description: Mon Calamari Shipyards are a very old and generally highly revered company, founded some 4,000 years BBY on Dac. The shipyards were renowned for their elegant, streamlined ship designs, characterised by bespoke production, unique engineering, and a sculpted, organic hullform. Though originally focused on exploration vessels and luxury liners, Mon Calamari designs emphasised powerful defences. It functioned as the primary warship manufacturer for the Alliance to Restore the Republic, New Republic, Galactic Alliance and others over the years. Though it its headquarters are located on Dac, its manufacturing capablities are likely to be bolstered by Dosuun from the industrial might of the First Order. However, military production is not the sole purpose of Mon Calamari Shipyards and will continue to serve as a producer of fine civilian ships.
