Pirate Prince
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
- Intent: To sub a recurring character who provides a vital service to Nimdok.
- Role: Based on the real life musician of the same name, Moondog's psychometry allows Nimdok to shed light on the origins of any mysterious unidentified artifacts he may find, as well as serving as a musical mentor to Starlin Rand. He's also something of a wizard, because this is Chaos.
- Permissions: N/A
- Links: Introduced in For Sentimental Reasons.
- Age: Early seventies
- Force Sensitivity: Knight
- Species: Kiffar
- Appearance: "An old man sat on a street corner in the Uscru Entertainment District. His hair and beard were long and white as snow, and his face was like that of a marble statue. He had not opened his eyes since he was sixteen years old, when he had unknowingly picked up an old Mandalorian explosive lying in a field on his homeworld and it detonated in his face, robbing him forever of sight."
- Name: Moondog. “Because it sounds cool, kid. I don’t remember the name I was born with, and I’ve already forgotten the one I’ll die with.”
- Loyalties: Himself and his friends.
- Wealth: He willingly lives in poverty and only occasionally accepts offers of money or other goods, even from his friends.
- Notable Possessions: His only "prized" possessions are his musical instruments, including two that he invented and built himself - a triangular percussion device set to 4/4 time, and a weird harp that's played with a bow and produces a sound like a serpent slithering across smooth stone.
- Skills: He has a natural gift for psychometry due to his Kiffar ancestry, and he has honed it over the years to the point where he would be considered a master at that particular power. Otherwise, he seems to have been trained as a Jedi, but only achieved the level of Knight. He can use Force Sight as a crutch, but he generally prefers not to bother and just uses a walking stick, service animal, or asks for assistance from a sighted person instead.
- Personality: Moondog could best be described as a weird old hippie. Very unique, eccentric, and interesting. In some ways he's cool as hell, but only if you get it, man. If you don't, he comes across as needlessly cryptic, annoying, and pretentious. Most of his positive relationships with others are built on the common ground of a shared love for music, which is all Moondog really cares about. He'd like to be appreciated for his contributions to music, but he can live without the praise of others. For him making music is like breathing - he does it because he must.
- Weapon of Choice: The Force (only as a last resort)
- Combat Function: Being elderly and blind, he isn't much of a warrior, though he has fought off petty thieves with his stick before. If combat of a more intense degree does occur, he's likely to find a hiding spot and stay there until its all over, letting his companions do the fighting, or run away if there are no other options.

"The boy gaped at the old man, who looked to him like something out of a fairytale illustration. A wizened wizard, argus-eyed—or he would be, if his eyes were to open." -Starlin Rand, For Sentimental Reasons
As mentioned previously, the Kiffar known as Moondog has been physically blind since the age of sixteen, when he unknowingly picked up an undetonated Mandalorian explosive lying in a field on his homeworld and it blew up in his face. Since then he has developed into an eccentric vagabond, an old man in a strange costume who stands as a constant fixture on the streets of Coruscant's Uscru Entertainment District.
How he met Nimdok is unclear, but both consider each other a friend despite their differences in beliefs and personalities. The teenage Starlin Rand is utterly fascinated by Moondog and is determined to learn all that he can about music from him.
Moondog provided his assistance to Nimdok and Starlin in learning the origins of a cache of unidentified ancient lightsabers in the possession of Val Drutin.
