Name: Morossian Resu
Designation: Sentient
Homeworld: The Realm of Resu, specifically Shikyu
Language: Resune, and broken Basic
Average Lifespan: Undetermined, the "species" is too young to have had natural deaths. The original lifespan of the Resu was 40 Standard Years, and most who were converted were between adulthood and Veteran age, though due to the unnatural nature of the change into a semi-technobeast it is likely their lifespan could be unnaturally expanded by several decades if left unkilled.
Estimated Population: Roughly ~500 million in total spread out throughout the Realm of Resu and its former Lunar Empires.

Average height of adults: (Females) 4 meters tall when standing (typically) / (Males) 3 meters tall when standing (typically)
Average length of adults: (Females) 2 meter tail length when standing (typically) / (Males) 1 meter tail length when standing (typically)
Skin color: Silver and other metallic reflective tones
Hair color: N/a
Techno-viral Distinctions (An addendum to the Distinctions listed in Resu):
  • Technoflesh - The Morossian Resu have become the abominable hybrid of "magically" self-generating machine flesh and Resu tissue, propagated by the Sith ability Mechu-Dura Vitea twisted in the hands of Solaiel Devin Talith to save their intelligence. As such, the exterior of the Morossian Resu are dominated by metal and machines, while the interior slowly transitions into the hybridization of flesh and machine, and finally the very center of the Resu remains nearly unscathed by the virus's cruel embrace.
  • Hydrogen Tanks - Due to the nature of the First Converts fusion with his Life Support suit when exposed to the manipulated strain of the Techno-virus, all Morossian Resu (who are, in effect, "descended" from him) possess tanks of hydrogen on their backs which supply their gills with hydrogen into their water tubes. As described below, these are a critical spot for the Morossian Resu, which if severely damaged (which does not take much), hydrogen will not be distilled into their water tubes, and they will die from a lack of hydrogen going to the brain, which does not take long at all. Luckily, there are two of them, but only for each gill. This means that if only one hydrogen tank is destroyed, the Resu has a fighting chance to survival, but is severely weakened (essentially breathing as if they had one functional lung, to provide a simile to their situation).
  • Technoblades - Despite neither being a feature of their biology (for obvious reasons) or Stone Hermes initial life support suit which inspired the dramatic changes in all future Morossian Resu, and given that the technovirus is derived of the force, all Morossian Resu upon conversion sacrifice some of their flesh and technoflesh to generate a melee weapon of some sort. Sometimes this results in a blade often wielded by humanoids, other times it may generate much longer tusks (replicating the traditional tusk swords of the original Resu), or even exceptionally long claws (another weapon inspired by the original Resu). Sometimes, although rarely, they will develop a more flexible tail with a bladed tip as their melee weapon. In short, all Morossian Resu are "born" with a bladed weapon to conduct their religious crusade.
  • Digital Voice - For the first time in their history, the Resu may physically speak basic, cry out in pain, or roar audibly through a digital voice box that is now a part of their very being.

Breathes: Hydrogen Distilled Water
Techno-viral Strengths and Weaknesses (An addendum to the Biological S/W's listed in Resu):

(+) Durasteel Skin - When the Resu were effected by the specific strain of Tecno-virus manipulated and released by [member="Soliael Devin Talith"], their bodies were fused with their life support suits (if they had them on) in such a manner that their bodies adopted and reinforced the metallic substances in such a manner their exoskeletal armor, tusks, teeth, claws, and back spines became comparable in strength to durasteel. In the case of Resu who were not wearing life support suits at the time of conversion, it would seem that they still spontaneously replicate these traits when safely converted by a Morossian Resu.
(+) Spontaneous Metallic Generation - The techno-virus is capable of converting what measly flesh the Resu still posses (or repossesses through digestion), and utilizing existing sources of technoviral flesh to create basic melee weapons. This is made most evident by Stone Hermes spontaneously generating a sword upon being converted, and the case is similar for other new converts. This is not an instaneous ability however, and takes a great deal of time and effort to procure a new blade should one become irrepairibly damaged (in other words, Morossian Resu will not mystically pull a blade out from under their tail as soon as they are disarmed). In addition to this, at the expense of sanity, intelligence, thinking consciousness, and living lifespan, such an ability could potentially be used to spontaneously repair a damaged exterior, as observed by Stone Hermes battles during the invasion of the Silken Asteroid and there after. The damage he procured would've been irrepairable if not for the self-creating nature of the virus.
(+) Ability to Walk - No seriously this is a big deal. Seeming as how they were previously an entirely aquatic species, the ability to explore most any environment is extremely liberating, no longer confined to the oceans and no longer requiring a dedicated life suit (since they are themselves a closed environment)
(+) Spark Throwers - Given their original organic ability to perceive and manipulate all things electrical, it should be no surprise they retain the ability to arc electricity through the air (or whatever medium) to cause harm to targets, and depending on the strength may even kill the target. Obviously, the most potent mediums to utilize this ability is in the vacuum of space, and in open water. Though surprisingly, the techno-virus seems to have amplified their proficiency in such a manner as to allow the arcs to be effective even in a gaseous atmosphere in order to substantiate an actual attack.
(+) Technoviral Transmission - Any sharp edges they carry (including the melee weapon forged out of their flesh) is infectious with the Techno-Virus. Against Resu flesh, it converts them accordingly into a full fledged Morossian Resu (if they are not too damaged by the attack). Against any other flesh, the victims are mindless upon full conversion, and can be commanded (roughly) by force sensitives or Morossian Resu if they are not so badly mangled by the Morossian Resu's initial attack to convert them, that they cannot physically function.

(+/-) Force Blind - Despite their alchemical treatment by the dark side, they remain blind to the force

(-) "Achilles Heal" - Hydrogen Tanks, located on their backs only moderately defended by back spines, are near-instantly lethal if pierced or otherwise seriously damaged. Another reason for the incredible lethality, is the fact they are filled with hydrogen, so if set ablaze by say, a blaster bolt, they will explode destroying both and massively damaging the body. Additionally, a Morossian Resu will have to occasionally refill the Hydrogen tanks to remain living.
(-) Electrical Overload - Electrical and ion weapons can slow them down considerably, due to the cybernetic nature of most of their flesh. Such tactics only seem to slow them however, as opposed to outright damaging or hurting them (usually), largely due to their natural flesh's resistance to electrical discharge, and the near-regenerative properties of the Tecno-virus (though at the expense of sanity, intelligence, thinking consciousness, and living status after a certain threshold).
(-) Mechanical Bits No Good - They have incredible difficulty reproducing sexually, due to the massive amounts of biological flesh converted into machine-flesh by the Techno-virus. The thought of two Morossian Resu naturally mating and successfully conceiving, is rarer than the the thought of a Morossian Resu throwing down their arms in surrender.
(-) Lack of Sensory Distinction - Their infrared sight is capable of being fooled with ease for a variety of reasons. For one thing, in the water it was never their primary sensory system of choice, acting mostly as an incredibly acute auxiliary sense used for determining warm bodies from a great distance. It was not used for distinguishing the minute differences between totally different people or aliens, with some electrical signature to assist them in identifying who they are. Additionally, large amounts of heat thrown around, can utterly blind them to anything surrounding the source of that heat, effectively hiding an individual from their detection (given their lack of other useful senses to detect them).
(-) Force Light - Given that by their very nature that they are a form of Sithspawn, they are particularly vulnerable to Force Light. However, if ever used on them to be used as a cure... the healer will be extremely disappointed. Force Light used in a manner to extinguish the Technovirus, will kill a Morossian Resu if only because they will become a fish out of water.

Races: Similar to their ancestors, who are divided between Lunar Resu and Terrestrial Resu, the Morossian Resu are similarly divided. In addition, they are also heavily divided in a question of ideology; while all Morossian Resu (with very very few exceptions) zealous conform to the faith of the Moross Crusade, they all have their unique "drift" from the original faith they all universally shared. This drift, is seen as the race maturing from its origins, and returning to its warlike ways having been devoid of a foreign adversary for so long. Additionally, one drift in particular, is among the most extreme example: The Inquisition of the Stone Hermes Heresy. The ISHH (an acronym for use in this submission) are the result of an ideological drift from the leadership of the First Convert, and the vehement denouncement of his experiments, believing (rightly so) he is delving into the use of forbidden technology as a mean to end their universal infertility. They also diverge from other drifts, from their odd increased sympathy for the Original Resu locked in their reservation on Ysraka, and with to reconcile their actions by attempting to work with them on a solution. This has earned them the ire of the Theocracy loyalists. So in short, a list:
  • Morossian Resu (Lunar) - Lunar Resu who were converted (vastly outnumbering Terrestrials, and three times weaker than them due to gravity; do not mistake them for being weak to humanoids however, the conversion granted these Resu a considerable amount of strength and durability many species would be envious of).
  • Morossian Resu (Terrestrial) - Resu living in the oceans of Terrestrial colonies who were converted (vastly outnumbered by the Lunars, and three times stronger than them due to gravity; many species should be careful around these rarities, they are exceptionally dangerous and not to be trifled with).
  • Morossian Resu (ISHH) - Resu ideologically opposed to the Theocratic leadership of Stone Hermes, due to their increased sympathies and willingness to cooperate with the Original Resu, and due to the suspected heresy Stone Hermes the First Convert. Only about a third of the Morossian Resu have sided with ISHH, and they make sure to make it known they have made that transition through special markings only Resu senses may perceive... otherwise, they are entirely identical to the typical Morossian Resu to any other observer.

Diet: Carnivorous, intolerant of oxygen and any oxygen breathing meats, as well as any bio-carbons. Though thanks to their minimal precentage of remaining flesh to their Technoviral flesh, allergies to these substances have faded into only minor inconveniences. Even if they can tolerate the presence of carbon products and oxygen, it does not mean either holds any biological or nutritional value.
Communication: Between Resu, their communication is a combination of electrical frequency discharges and field interactions, with more subtle infrared signally acting as social cues, however physical and exaggerated body motion have replaced these subtleties due to their difficulty in utilizing their thermal organs as a mostly synthetic being. When speaking to non-Resu, they are capable of using their translators directly as a digital voice, which now being fused into their physiology has allowed for a greater range of vocabulary than ever before.

If they were not so zealous to kill or convert other beings in their hyper-aggression, they would be more suitable to holding a lengthy and complicated conversation with other species thanks to a more innate use of Basic than ever before. Though their use of Basic is still quite broken and more mechanical in nature than other speakers of the language.
Culture: [Describe general culture]

Cultural Strengths and Weaknesses (An addendum to Cultural S/Ws listed in Resu):
(+) Zealous - They are utter zealots to the faith of Moross, their faith in the Crusade is virtually impregnable... except in the rarity that their mind was left unchanged by the virus, or in the case that their ideals slowly drifted from the core principles which invade their minds upon conversion, due to recent events and new beliefs (as is the case of ISHH). Even though the Crusade has fallen, their faith remains strong (even among the ISHH, albeit in a different manner than the typical Morossian Resu)
(+) Self-Sacrifice - No Resu is a coward to begin with, but when combined with the religious zealotry ingrained in the Morossian Resu, if the occasion called for it they would willingly enter a situation they know is suicide if they believe it will further the cause of the Crusade.
(-) Prone to Traps - The Resu were already easily provoked, and aggressive to begin with. The Morossian Resu upon conversion, with their fanatical zealotry, become hyper-aggressive to the point that provoking them may be as minor as simply existing in their proximity. For that reason, intelligent strategy may crumble if an opponent uses this to their advantage to set up an ambush or something of that nature.
(-) Negative Birth Rate - Tests of strength and monogamy significantly decreases population potential, especially dangerous now that their new biology has hampered their ability to reproduce almost to the point of being non-existent. Now that most original Resu have been converted, there are now more Morossian Resu dying than new ones are being generated (either naturally or through conversion), especially as they fight in a ideological schism against each other, or submit themselves to usually lethal experimentation.
(-) Grudge Memories - The indefinite grudges carried over from the Resu can often lead to unnecessary conflict between members of the infected who were enemies before being converted, over mere trivial issues. The only exception thus far known is the former feuds between family empires of the Resu, who upon being converted are absorbed into a grander Family Empire: The Moross Crusade. Now that the Crusade has fallen, it all the Theocracy under Stone Hermes can do, to keep them in line... thus prompting the rise and formation of ISHH to begin with.

Technology level: Not much, in the way of technology, has changed after conversion. Their level of technology is virtually the same as the Resu, although in some sects the art of selective breeding utilizing advanced Hatcheries are far more advanced than their predecessors, allowing the creation of the Resuspawn Toxin, and subsequently the New Resu.
General behavior: Their behavior is nearly identical to their Resu predecessors... except it is even more exaggerated. Their aggression is increased, and their provocation has never been higher. They less like bees now, and more like stinging wasps that need you only be near them to justify killing you.

History:
To Change a Race

Sometime between the years 836 and 837 ABY, @Solaeil Devin Talith under his guise as the living Morossian God (an Aesir) "Neth, Keeper of Knowledge", came to the Realm of Resu. From that moment forward, as Stone Hermes writhed under the transformative abilities of the Sith Lord's specialized form of Mechu Duru Vitaea, the future of the Resu was altered forever. Over 90% of the entire population of the Resu was converted into these technological abominations almost over night, due to the hyper-aggressive nature of both parties, and the manner in which the virus was transferred between individuals. As such, the Moross Crusade had gained a new elite fighting force millions strong, which they used in their war with the Horde.

Although the Crusade would ultimately find victory over the Horde, it would seem that the Morossian Resu would see a decline in the theocratic government which they so zealous vowed to defend and to fight in honor of for as long as the gods lived. More terrifying to them then the possibility that their gods might have abandoned them, was the fact they now knew as these technological monstrosities they had nearly no manner in which to breed. Then, to their horror, they learned of a virus which had affected their only "livestock", the remaining members of the Original Resu kept in captivity on Ysraka for conversion purposes whenever their population grew. The virus seemed to sterilize males, and make females barren, and was thus dubbed the Infertility Plague.

With his race on the brink of extinction due to this unfortunate twist of fate, Stone Hermes traveled to Exocron to consult with his Aesir Neth, who had locked himself away from his followers. His most loyal servant, Stone Hermes was nearly broken by his inability to contact "The Truest One", but did not allow this defeat to overcome him. Praying now to the god Liad who was in the heavens, for a cure to the plagues he had used to test the Resu, asking for a means that he may please the god. Although, given that all gods of Moross were fictional (not to his knowledge), the "god" did not reply and the poor Stone Hermes was left to make a dreadful decision.

The choice he saw before him, upon the discovery of a forbidden technology, was to follow the religious views of his people and allow them to slowly die out into extinction... or to dabble in heresy in search of a miracle that would further the Crusade by allowing their survival. Unlike his choice as an original Resu to become converted at the expense of his race out of fear of exile, Stone Hermes would metaphorically fall on his sword if it meant his race was guaranteed to live, due to the self-sacrificial nature of the new Morossian Resu psychology. He risked his own exile and excommunication to provide a miracle for his race, completely at odds with the Resu mentality of the past.

For many years after, Stone Hermes, utilizing the Vongspawn virus, experimented on unfortunate pirates and other travelers through the system and old Morossian territory, converting them into the unfortunate and painful hybridization of the Vongspawn Virus and the Technovirus. Although he learned that the same state (once stablized), was not possible for the Morossian Resu due to their silicon biology being immune to the carbon based Vongspawn virus. Eventually however, while receiving increased criticism from some of his elite due to his use of forbidden technology (given it was the "technology" of the much hated Horde), a discovery was made on a terrestrial world: a plant that seemed to incorporate both a carbon and a silicon biology.

Experiments began on the plant, after many generations in the Hatcheries, and several tests involving the viruses on the plant simultaneously, Stone Hermes had done the impossible. The plant exhibited both properties of each virus, and was turned into parasitic organism capable of injecting enough carbon flesh-making molecules to physical transform its host, so as to allow the Vongspawn virus to take root, all the while spreading the technovirus in the host. New experiments began, utilizing the "Resuspawn Toxin" created by this "engineered" plant on typical Shikyun animals. The results were glorifying, resulting in a symbiotic relationship between the new plant species which acted as a carry for both viruses, which transformed the animals into the horrifying hybridization of the Vongspawn Virus and the Technovirus, providing the advantages of the Technovirus, with the capability to breed thanks to the Vongspawn Virus's rapid flesh growth... all made possible by changing the very biological make-up of these silicon creatures through the introduction of bio-carbon flesh strains.

Finally, in the year 849 ABY, a dozen years since the Moross Crusade had changed the Resu forever... they would face a new change. Twelve Shikyun Queens were arrayed before the First Convert Stone Hermes, and became the first Morossian Resu to be infected with the Resuspawn Toxin... becoming Resuspawn, the New Resu. The ramifications for this, are still being processed. May the galaxy pray the Resuspawn Horde remains confined to the Kathol Outback...

Notes about the history:

I see you are submitting additional submissions for this (the Resuspawn and the Toxin derived from this mysterious plant). Was the intent to incorporate most of that information into here, seeing as it delves more into the evolution of the Resuspawn than the Morossian Resu itself (which for all intents and purposes, seems rather simplistic in the delivery of the virus)? This is more of a question/conversation piece than an actual request for an edit.

Notes in general:

I need to digest this. There is a good deal going on here and a lot to look over, considering that I was never involved with the Moross Crusade. As Taeli mentioned, I think this is edging on the side of needing development. However, I'm willing to consider development served upon completion of the Resuspawn development - on account of the threads you have already done as well the shear magnitude of the work put into this submission. Would you find that agreeable?

Sure! I used Tiny Eye, but it came out with literally billions of results, so I just plugged in the link I found it originally as.

Notes about history:

Yeah, I made sure that all submissions would be able to link to each other. The idea being, a reader for one submission, would be able to link to another and read everything about it. That aside, the Resuspawn are still a apart of their history, even if they are a divergence from this particular strain of the Resu, so naturally they are referenced to.

Notes in General:

Sure, but I can just plug in the first thread they were introduced. Edging on about 17 posts if I remember correctly (none very short either, I might add). I can submit other posts of notable development for the character Stone Hermes, which demonstrated these abilities, as desired. I also suppose, if for whatever reason, those aren't enough either, that development going towards the Resuspawn (Toxin) could also count towards their progenitors.

I added these in.

Spitefulness or not, development is development. Of those totaling out, it appears to have roughly 56 posts of development. I am considering the need for development, for this submission, satisfied.
