<< I heard there were rumors circling around that I may have been a Jedi Master in another life; However, I did nothing to dispel the notion. Feth, I even took advantage of the intimidating presence it gave me -- (for more details, see here.)
Whatever Light Side allegiances and Jedi connections I have or may have had are absolutely unknown; so far as anyone knew or could assume, I was simply a former Service Corps member who washed out for lack of Force strength—what i'm saying is that my background checks are solid.
Anyway...
I've carried this intention with me for a long time. A purpose, perhaps—a hope that, one day, my life will mean something enough that someone, somewhere, might find these words significant or even necessary. I don't say this out of vanity; trust me, I would know. Anyone who has wrestled with the shadows within and clawed their way back to the Light, learns to temper their ego. Not because they've been taught it's right, but because they've had to discover that truth on their own, through the long journey of self-restraint. So, no—I don't suffer from pride. If anything, I've spent years ensuring that I don't. I only want to make a difference, to leave behind something that matters. That's been my purpose for a long time, the one thread that has guided me through this veil of mystery I now wear. It's the last piece of who I once was, woven quietly into who I am now.
I left my old name behind as a promise—a choice to live only as Mother Askani now. I am a mentalic of rare skill, perhaps one of the most formidable still walking these stars. It may sound like arrogance, but it's a truth tempered by hard-won experience and survival, forged in fire and wielded now in secrecy. I've walked the edges of war and shadow, seen depths most turn away from. Few, Jedi or Sith, can match the paths I tread, or the vision I project.
Yes, I lived, as majority do...but like the rest, one day I died or rather I thought I did. I thought I'd met my end in the darkness the befell Coruscant, lost to the void—but I soon returned to the galaxy's harsh light. I went underground, my power flickering...until I met this young boy; a survivor. He had the gift, a rare mind. He asked to walk with me, but I chose solitude then.
In time, though, I saw the truth: this galaxy always needed more than lone survivors. It needed guardians; more of them. Protectors hidden in plain sight. And so, the Hidden Path was born, not from conquest, but quiet resilience. We are the unseen, the forgotten, bound by loyalty, walking together now—Sighted, Shepard, Askani.
I've been running from the dark...and shepherding the innocent. A thanks for today, a please for tomorrow. >>

+ A High-Order Psi:
- She stands as one of the most knowledgeable and adept Force wielders in recorded history, her mastery of mental manipulation and telepathic abilities reaching unparalleled heights. She is among the rare individuals who can flawlessly and seamlessly alter a mind. Believed to have once been a Jedi or the like, she has since adopted a mysterious new identity, cloaking her past in secrecy. Her expertise in battle meditation is unmatched, she excels in astral combat, and has since developed her abilities to the point of affecting the minds of species with highly organized mental facilities (i.e Hutts, Toydarians and Epicanthix), making her one of the most powerful and accomplished mentalist/telepaths to walk the shadows of the galaxy.
- She has an air about her that speaks to a lifetime of combat training and hard-earned experience, she possesses an innate athleticism and resilience that allow her to endure far beyond most. An elusive figure with an enigmatic past, those who'd think her once a Jedi assume she aligns with master swordsmanship and unconventional martial arts and techniques seen among Jedi or Sith. However, even in her obscurity, her skills are as sharp as ever. She is a master of the Psimitar.
- In a fateful encounter with a formidable creature, she sustained an injury that weakened her connection to the Force, leaving her power diminished and her once-fluid telekinetic abilities among many others nearly inert. Yet, even in this altered state, her skill in the mental arts remains formidable. Her psionic and precognitive abilities are undiminished, allowing her to confront and outmaneuver even those stronger in raw power. Her experience and mastery make her a highly potent mentalist still—wielding her remaining strengths with a precision that very few can rival.
- She has obscured her true identity and presence, shielding her thoughts and abilities from even the most perceptive Jedi and Force-sensitive beings. This mental cloak extends to those around her, subtly altering their perception so they see only the enigmatic figure she has become, rather than anything she once was. She consistently rearranges her own mental engrams, preventing detection by advanced Force-sensing devices or those skilled in mind-reading. However, this concealment is not infallible—especially perceptive or powerful Force users may still sense faint traces of who she once was, though only in fleeting glimpses. This constant, subtle manipulation keeps her past veiled in mystery, allowing her to walk unnoticed through a galaxy that once revered her. (i.e you don't know this woman.)
- As a a half Hapan, she shares part of her people's struggle with night blindness—a consequence of living amidst the endless daylight of the Hapes Cluster, where dense stars leave no room for darkness. Over generations, her kind lost the ability to see in low light, leaving them nearly blind in dim conditions. While not nearly as bad as someone full-blooded, she does still struggle to see in dim lighting, with the effects of age added upon it.
- Aspects often associated with middle age:
- Physical Limitations and Fatigue: With age has come certain physical limitations—moments when her reflexes falter or her endurance wanes. While her skills and mental prowess remain sharp, the wear of her battles occasionally threaten to hold her back, testing her resilience.
- Lingering Regret and Guilt: She harbors a deep sense of regret over past decisions and missed paths, fueling an undercurrent of self-doubt that she struggles to keep buried. This sense of missed opportunities sometimes manifests as caution or hesitation, especially in moments that demand decisive action.
- A Sense of Fading Purpose: Once driven by the clear path of the Jedi, she now grapples with a lack of self-identity, her life shaped by a role she's left behind. This leaves her questioning her place in the galaxy, her purpose lost in the shadow of what she once was.
