Move it forward

Kilari could feel her heart hammering in her chest as she brushed down the new robes. They were crisp and stiff, but thick and protective. The brown colors suited her tastes as a bonus, and she even got to keep her new boots. Her white hair was glowing with a fresh wash, hanging around her shoulders, her skin polished clean. She looked much more different than usual. She looked brand new.

'I'll explore this temple today... Since I'm staying...'

Kilari smiled to herself, and skipped out of the plain quarters she had been provided when she arrived. There appeared not to be too many people roaming the halls in the immediate area, which was a relief to her. The less people she ran into while exploring the better. She was still shocked she was on Ossus, let alone being told she was force sensitive!

The reminder of what the jedi man had told her made her heart flutter once more, her face slightly pink. On one major side she was excited and thrilled to have a future- a roof over her head and clothes on her back. People who smiled at her in welcome instead of out right ignoring her. On the other, her anxiety was crawling up her spine and clawing into her head, telling her that it can all disappear in a matter of moments. If she messed up, if she did something wrong- who was to say she would be able to stay here?

A small frown crossed her lips and her steps slowed. She neatly threaded her fingers in front of her, casing her silver eyes down into her palms. They were clean and soft, her nails trimmed and her fingertips uncracked. She looked like a normal sixteen year old Echani, she looked like she hadn't been living off the street for as long as she had.

Her shoulder barely brushed that of someone else's and she jumped out of the way, "S-sorry!" she softly called out, pressing her body against a stone pillar. The young girl looked around, taking in her surroundings. She was just next to a junction of the halls, and it wasn't a place she recognized. "I'm lost...." she sighed, her shoulder's drooping.

The first session with Steve had been energetic to say the least, and if he wasn't awake beforehand, he certainly was now. The little Milenici had a ways to go to get a handle on that exuberance and the seer believed that he was the one for the task. Much of his own training was entrenched in the calm the Force provided, and he very well understood how important the understanding of it was for every Jedi. How crucial it was to be able to center one's self when faced with that which sought to test one's faith in the Light. It felt good to be able to pass on that legacy and for the first time what felt like ages he found himself humming a little tune because of it, and thinking of taking up the quetarra once again, as he strode from his own quarters to...

...well, whatever it was, his intentions were once again thwarted by what he knew better than to take as chance as he clipped another person in passing, blissfully oblivious - and it was indeed blissful for him to be unaware in the odd moment - to her presence at the end of the corridor.

"Oh, no need tae apologize!" he insisted, backing off as she had at the contact, but not to such an extreme. It was clear to him that she was jumpy for some yet-to-be discerned reason, "Me 'ead was off in th'clouds. Really should know better tae watch where ah'm going."

She looked defeated at the admission of being lost. The temple complex was without a doubt huge, and with good reason. It was the hub of Jedi life in the Republic, though strangely quiet as of late for what it was.

"Who or what are ye trying tae find?"

Kilari hadn't realized he had actually stopped to take notice of her, expecting him to continue on with his business... as most people usually did with her. But that wasn't the only thing that threw her, his apology for one, and his curiosity for two. She had only meant to mutter to herself, not to trouble this man with her lack of attention. 'The people here seem to all be nice....I suppose I'll have to get used to it.' Her fingers intertwined and she lightly bowed before the man that addressed her, feeling guilty for drawing his attention from a mere brush of shoulders.

"S-sorry... I-I'm new here and-and I don't r-really know where I-I'm at." She took a deep breath to try and stable her stutter, rushing her words to lessen her obvious nervousness. "I just came from my Dormitory! O-or the room I-I was placed in? I-I'm n-not sure what t-to do n-next...." She felt her face get hot, and was sure it would be turning pink from embarrassment. A small part of her knew she had no reason to be embarrassed, she had ventured out on her own accord in a new place, but she felt it none the less.

"I-I'm t-terribly sorry if I-I troubled you s-sir...." She nodded towards him, and scanned the area again, trying to remembering if the Jedi had escorted her through this particular area to her room. Most likely after a while of searching and exploring she would find it again, but she wasn't entirely sure how big the place was. Or if she was to meet with someone about her 'Connection' and 'potential'.

He smiled. Smiling was best to help put someone at ease. For that he could manage one, where in many cases a smile was hard to come by, his mind weighed down by so very much that for the most part it was best to not trouble others with. His Jedi training - of himself and others - was a welcome distraction from the things he knew he must do. The events here during the unfortunate subjugation of Manaan were the most recent concern... but that was all inside his head, so to speak. Others, certainly, and seen and felt what had come to pass within him, and he clawed through his mind to figure out what it all meant.

"No, no trouble," he assured, slipping his hands into pockets in the folds of his robes, "if ye don't mind, ah ken help ye ease th'feeling of being lost. Ah 'ave th'time."

There, that would probably do it. In all his years with the Jedi, he couldn't recall seeing someone nearly so nervous - even he hadn't been in his first days. No, that was far more fear than nervousness.

"May ah ask y'name?"

His accent threw her full turn, confusing her and forcing her to translate it as fast as possible in her head. She would never admit out loud that she didn't fully understand a few of his words, she stuttered hard enough at times to not be understood either. She had been lucky so far to meet mostly kind people who could tolerate it. The few that didn't... well she learned from experience to try to force the stuttering down.

His robes too told her of his position, a Jedi? Potetialy someone within their ranks? But really who other than a jedi would roam a jedi temple? Kilari was only confusing herself with her inner conflict of trying to analyze this man. "Kilari Amiir, I-I was brought here just yesterday s-s-ir... I-I'm not entirely s-sure what to do n-next.."

A soft sigh escaped her lips, her stuttering was getting better at least with her introductions. "What is y-yours?" She gazed up at him with her light silver eyes, genuine curiosity shining beneath. Had there been more people about, not only would she be in a frenzy but most likely not be able to look at him. 'Respect your elders, mind your place.' Was what she was often warned with, to be wary of how she addressed others when asking for help, and not to offend.
