Moving A Space Station

Hello all!

So, a question about this, and whether I need a submission to do it.

How does one move a space station from one system to another? By station, I’m talking about the Tirathana Skyport currently over Kaeshana.

We would like to move this to a different system, but wookiee and the other info I have doesn’t mention how this is done.

So, how do I do it…and do I need a tech sub and dev thread moving it…or can I just say it’s been moved and submit a submission modification and be done with it?

So, how do I do it…

Frigates or other large ships that are designed for transporting cargo or towing larger ships (seemingly rare on the board) are generally used by either A) Using a tractor beam setup to pull them along or B) Physical cables with electromagnets to tug them. Assuming you want to change the submission for the station itself you would probably need to do a short development thread and submit a modification in the Starship Submission Modifications thread. Assuming it has no location submission already made, you could then cement it by submitting such. In either case the person who submitted the station in question or the current owner will need to be the person to do so. You can ask [member="Spencer Jacobs"] for more information.

I am the original submitter of the station under a different alt.

So basically:

• Dev thread to show the station being moved.
• Modification in Starships forum.
• Create a location using it in its new location.

Does that sound about right?

I know that I made a small cargo tug a while back. It was intended to fill a wide range or rolls, including working in groups to drag around much larger ships. And while I can't remember any in particular at this moment, I'm fairly sure that both Jon and Ovmar have at one point or another have made dedicated 'towtruck' ships that could be used for stuff like this.
