Moving To New Places

The sales of their cortoisis, as well as other minerals had made Nova Corp's profits expanded significantly in the latest financial quarter. Astril Nova, heir to Nova Corp, and one of the co-owners had decided to take it upon herself to set up expansion on a new mineral, one arguably more prized than even cortoisis, and phrik, stygium crystals.

Stygium crystals were extremely important specifically because they could cloak a ship, making the ship undetectable by various sensors except the classic crystal gravfield trap. Nevertheless, they had been a prized material by many of the galaxy's biggest factions, and the young businesswoman knew that it would be best to secure its reserves immediately, as it continued to become more scarce around the galaxy.

"I trust we have a plan to create the mine." she said, waiting to hear a response from the respresentatives in the meeting.

"Yes mam. We have identified, in cooperation with local scientists, and so forth, a large reserve of stygium crystals. We have also determined the necessary local personnel required, as well as equipping our personnel with safety equipment, and development of local protocols in alignment with our planets' laws, as well as the galaxy at large."

Astril, being from the mining business, analyzed the data. The representatives had done extremely well, better than when Nova Corp decided to expand to Zonju V.

"Excellent." Astil stated. Other than the fact that the sale of stygium crystals represented an opportunity to increase Nova Corp's already rising profits, she had been informed by her co-owner, Krayzen Dratos, that he wished to get stygium crystals for an important project. If they were successful in the establishment of a mine in the specific planet, it would do well for her, and for her business at large.

"Thank you mum." the representatives kindly replied in unison. Astril then decided that it would be time to go. The former mercenary then got on her yatch, and went to a specific planet where it was confirmed stygium crystals existed. As always, it would take a few seconds for the hyperdrive to activate.

As she traveled through hyperspace, she decided to lead on the latest books on quantum cryptography, slowly learning something that she had wanted to learn many years ago. Her time as a mercenary had made her learn various cryptographic protocols, as well as expand her knowledge on the development of quantum cryptography. A few years later, she now planned on adding such things into Nova Corp, in due time at least.

So that's what his algorithm does. she thought, surprised by the fact, but still reading.

Astril soon then landed on the planet, and was met by the representatives of the planet in the capital's spaceport. After landing, and exiting via the exit hatch, she went to her speeder, and towards the building site. The trip lasting a few moments.

"Ms. Nova, welcome to the building site." the project manager said.

She then nodded.

After that, she began to see the mine, wanting a status report immediately, as she had informed them of her trip many months ago.

"The construction of the mine is proceeding as schedules Ms. Nova. We have made sure, as you know, to follow the governments' laws regarding construction, as well as other activities, and to begin environmental efforts as soon as we are done, in accordance with the planetary's regulations in regards to this industry, and our specific activiity." the project manager said.

"We however believe that we are in deep need of security upgrades, especially in regards to other matters that you are aware off Ms.Nova. We hope that you can be able to finance the establishment of a security system that can be able to help our security officers. We are also asking for more mercenaries, as well as security contractors." she said.

Astril understood their concern. From what she knew, there was one company that apparently guaranteed merc contracts with Drakos Systems, but she knew the more, the better.

"I will most certainly look into the matter." she said, as she left to go back to her ship.

Maria then began to activate her yatch, and left the planet. Before she left it, she decided to activate her ship's cryptographic systems, deciding it was time to speak to Krayzen.

She waited for the signal to be sent, hoping the Anzat would respond. When he responded, he decided it was time to speak about an urgent matter.

"Mr.Dratos, long time no see. I have something I want to speak with you in regards to the security of our companies' assets." she said, her tone evincing the fact that she was not joking around.

The Anzat had not received a call from Astril Nova for a while. They had both agreed to give each other autonomy in their work, with the agreement that including the fact that there would be no sales to dark-side companies. Krayzen knew she would uphold that, considering the fact that she was a war refugee.

That was why when he received a call from her on their secret encrypted channel, he immediately got alarmed. She only contacted him when it was an urgent matter, and Krayzen knew that this was most likely so. The Anzat quickly opened the hologram, ready to speak with Astril immediately.

"What is the matter?" he curiously inquired, recognizing her urgent tone.

"I just came from talking with one of our project managers. He has confirmed what some in our upper brass have been saying. We required more security guards. He asked if we could fund a security system, which I am already working on as we speak. I believe we require more contractors. We've upped our recruitment, but I believe the only viable solutions are either the creation of a subsidary that does mercenary work, or we simply get more contractors." she said.

"I see. I was unaware of such a problem. I will immediately begin looking for other security contractors. If you don't mind, I would like this to expand to Golden Entertainment as well. Golden Entertainment is an important company for Drakos Systems, and with our plans to expand as well, we will require more, and more individuals." Krayzen said.

"Is there anything else. I trust that the establishment of the stygium mine is going as planned." he curiously asked?

"No." she said.

The young businesswoman then closed the channel, and decided to go back to Nova HQ in order to discuss other businessmatters. It was good to see that the mine was well on its way to completion. While other more cheaper, stealth technologies, and countermeasures were being developed, stygium crystals still remained an important asset to many factions, and it would be good busines for Nova Corp to seize the rare mineral.

A few months would pass, and the mine would be established. The first of many; at least that was the dream.
