Intent:


The reason for the creation and development of the MPBP Shard-Class boarding pod is to provide the Maw Consortium, and by extension the Corsair Brotherhood, with a ship to ship boarding vessel that is fast and can be launched at the enemy ship before rending through the outer layer of the haul and seal with it to allow a squad of six men to board the ship quickly and covertly. Little more reason than such this is to allow for a two front battle, distracting the other force from fully focusing on the main ship and having to fight the enemy on their ship while doing battle with the other ship. This is also to allow for quick boardings without the need of a stealth ship or the other ships hanger, allowing for the boarding to take place anywhere.

Modularity allows for larger carrier capsule, outfitment of ion pulse weapon, cloaking devices, and for atmospheric droppods, allowing for this to double as a space to ground quick response transport.(The latter most option will require for heavy modification and another variation thread of the MPBP Shard-Class Pod)

Description:
Ok, so here's the breakdown. The Shard-Class is a weaponless(Minus the ion Pulse), boarding pod fired from one ship at another, or at a space station/ ground level location. Its pure purpose is to insert troops onto another ship without the need of a hanger or an actual ship that could be shot down before it reached the other ship. As such, due to that purpose it sports no weapons, has powerful shields around the troop carrying area, and reinforced boarding claws that are used to pierce through the enemy ships hull and grab a hold of it. Once attached the pod seals the area around the point at which it penetrated and cuts through the hull to get its passengers into the enemy ship. Once fire, the pod cannot fly on its own and as such its passengers are stuck on the ship they are boarding. As such, its developers Void and Juthan, purposed the pods to only be used by Elite personnel and should the enemy eliminate the boarding party the pod a powerful charge within the pod will blow and breach the hull. This codename for the use of the charge is appropriately named Kamikaze Burst and can only be activated by a member of its original crew, usually the squad commander though. The way in which the pod recognizes the use of the charge is through voice commands, and the voices of its crew are recorded before the launch which is how they are recorded into each pod's own computer.

Forward/Rear projecting Novaldex deflector shield generators.(Projected only over the troop transport and Claws, is susceptable to Ion Bursts and will fail if hit by one)



Passenger Capacity:


None.



Cargo Capacity:


The Crew and its weapons, at most 1 ton to still be counted as effective against ships and not slow its puncture power of the other ships hull.



Consumables:


1 week.



Sublight Speed and Maneuverability:


As fast as it is shot at the enemy, though has a single ion engine and can go at a speed of 4(ONLY IN SPACE) and has decent maneuverability(AGAIN, ONLY IN SPACE.)

I see changes have been made, I have a few things to add:
  • Have you confirmed the use of Subach-Innes as manufacturer? In other words, did the company owner give you permission?
  • Combining your optimal crew and passengers brings the total capacity to 20 lifeforms, is this what you want for a quick attack pod?
  • Sublight Speed and Maneuver should be dropped to 4, bringing it to be on par with Gunship-like maneuvering
  • 4.5 Meters for total length is a little small to be carrying 20 total personnel. 4.5 Meters is equal to 14.7ft, edit accordingly.
 
1. Not personally, but i asked whom was building Corsair ships(As i am part of that now that the MC is merged with it).
2. Uh... lol, opps the crew is the passengers basically, when i think Crew i think everyone on board, and the passengers is what its transporting. As such ten people are being transported and those ten are the crew.
