Strengths:
- Multi-Purpose; The MPD is capable in a variety of roles but not specialized in any. Capable of carrying small vehicles such as the MARV-1a and its variants, a squadron of marines or providing light air support.
- Unspecialized; The MPD is unspecialized and is unable to counter most attacks from starfighters, gunships or other dropships. It is better served as a transporter than a fighter.
The MPD-11a stands for Multi-Purpose Dropship, a base model designed and manufactured by TaraTari Wartime for the Commonwealth. It is a base model for future specialized variants. In its current state the MPD-11a serves best as a transporter for miscellaneous goods, although it can act as mild air support.
The magnetic plating on the rear end of the MPD allows for vehicles to be attached and transported, although the base model of the MPD magnetic plate is unable to support more than five tonnes. The troop bay is much smaller than future planned variants and is only capable of seating twenty, while another fifteen can be standing.
The piloting requirements are minimal due to basic functions, requiring only a pilot, although a co-pilot is required to utilize the ships limited array of armaments. Often the MPD will sport a crew of three, pilot, co-pilot and a crew chief.
