The Liberation of Mandalore was a hard fought battle for the Mandalorian Union, with the ragtag force of Clans throwing everything they had at freeing their homeworld. There was little in the way of common equipment across the various Union forces, and military planning was near impossible when it came to organizing units together with similar weaponry. Following the end of the battle and the beginning of the reconstruction, the Union has set its eyes on fixing this. The MRX-1a is the first blaster rifle produced by the newly liberated Mandalorian people, and designed to fill the void and begin the process of centralizing and organizing the varied Union military armory.
