These can only be launched one at a time, but offer a last ditch escape route if the boarding party needs it.
- Nowhere To Run
- MTO-99's are essentially tiny ships that are launched from other ships. Their independent engine and propulsion systems allow them to be fired from any range that a long range missile or torpedo would be viable. MTO-99s can strike from nearly anywhere, meaning they are a real threat for damaged ships attempting to hide behind others, or ships that are attempting to retreat.

- MTO-99s are larger than the average torpedo, as they can fit an entire boarding party inside them. An elite force deposited directly to a primary target could wreak havoc. These torpedoes are meant for ship-to-ship combat in space, but they function in atmosphere and can even be used as a way to deposit troops to a planet's surface from orbit, as the MTO-99's thrusters can slow the torpedo's descent
- No Burning Boats
- Single person escape pods provide an emergency exit if a boarding party fails to secure a ship. Furthermore, these can be activated in space during the flight of the missile. While activating the command code will destroy the engine and de-pressurize the torpedo, if absolutely necessary, those inside can board the mini-pods before activating the command to avoid dying to depressurization.
- Big Target, Little Protection
- Point defense weapons will target this thing just as they would any other missile. While the torpedo's armor is decent, it needs to maintain the structural integrity of the armor in order to penetrate ships, so if the MTO-99's shields fail and the torpedo continues to take fire, it might not properly penetrate hulls. Extended point defense fire is a real threat to these weapons, as are conventional weapons, as ship based cannons will take these out in one or two shots.
- Lacking Payload
- The payload for these missile are the boarding party, they contain no explosive charges and rely on creating shrapnel through penetration to deal damage to systems and personnel.
- Double Edged Sword
- The torpedo's mini-pods can be used by anyone. If a boarding party leaves the impact site and fleeing ship personnel stumble upon them, they could theoretically use the escape pods to save themselves, simultaneously robbing the boarding party of their escape route.
A unique form of torpedo, the MTO-99 Boarding Torpedo is pretty universal. Most ships big enough to fire them will successfully operate these weapons. Propelled by ion engines with advanced thrust capabilities, these torpedoes can cross vast lengths of space to reach their target. Equipped with light shields to cover the hull alongside sensor scramblers and shrouds to prevent locks, the MTO-99 will tirelessly hunt down targets. A dedicated penetrating portion of the ship will punch through target hulls and winged structured spread out to ensure the torpedo stays inside the target. Furthermore, the MTO-99 provides an emergency escape route in the case of unsustainable damage to the torpedo or highly contested breach points that require an attacker retreat.
