Muskree Really Go Over It Again? [Xroghu]

So long had she drifted from Snow to Ice; Midvinter, Vanquo, Mygeeto... Midvinter again. Only Voss had broken up the monotony of stark white landscapes, and her time there had been brief to say the least. It wasn't that Mysa minded the snow, au contraire, the young would-be-Valkyri absolutely adored the frigid tundra's and mountains of these worlds, simply that sometimes it was nice to not feel quite so... Cold.

Then again, Muskree wasn't the warmest of planets. Cool enough to warrant her use of furs, at least. As ever the cloak of the Vhaanir was wrapped around her shoulders, engulfing the girl entirely. But there was no crunch beneath her boots as she walked this time. No satisfying noises at all, really. Just the steady thud of boots on dirt path.

Because this time she had come to the most unlikely of worlds.

It was known not for any precious minerals - though once upon a time, people had stupidly believed it was alive with resources - nor was it a wonder of the Galaxy! Instead, the town she strode through was known for... Nerf. Hardscrabble was a Nerf Herder's community. And a ridiculously funny name for a town! So much so that Mysa had bit back a laugh at the sound of it. That would have been rude to the human who had guided her across the arid plains toward the village.

Tufts of coarse grass grew here and there, spiny shrubs dotting the landscape. Mysa had stumbled into some of the latter when descending the ship she had journeyed on, and now a trickle of blood ran down her leg. She didn't mind, instead she simply pressed on. Though the scratch was rather itchy!

And why, might you ask, was the child here at all?

Well, that was the silliest part of the whole thing. For it happened to be that she was looking for a Vhaanir. Someone had stolen one of the most sacred creatures from Midvinter. And she fully intended to return it!

"I can have it fixed for ya by the endo tha month". The aged mechanic looked up at Xroghu through a cloudy set of goggles. The man looked like he was at least hundred, but through the cloudy goggles Xroghu could tell that age had not dulled the ancient mans' mind.

Xroghu stared at the mechanic and set his hands on his hips. "No. You will fix it for me today".

"Gotta fabricate the parts from scratch. No one delivers here see. So I can have it fixed for ya by the endo tha month."

Xroghu sighed. "Fine. Dont open my cargo hold", he added with a hint of warning. The man nodded at him and wandered off to a corner of his shop.

Xroghu stepped outside wrapping his robes tightly around him. Some of the humans gawked at him as he walked down the street. He stared straight ahead though inwardly rolled his eyes, it was clear this planet didn't get many visitors. He had never had any intention of visiting Muskree. In fact he had never even heard of the backwater planet or its only settlement Hardegg but the force had conspired to bring him here so he was content to make the most of it.

The only thing that bothered him about this place was the cold. He hated the cold, and recently his luck had taken him to multiple cold worlds in succession.

The town was remarkably bland, even to the girl who had never visited a world such as this before. She could see Nerf in the distance, Nerf in fields, Nerf walked by a rope through the streets, Nerf roaming... Nerf, Nerf, Nerf.

In fact the population of Nerf seemed to severely outnumber the humans!

Feeling a little exposed, she pulled her furs closer and peered this way and that. Humble houses, shops, and other necessary establishments lined the path, but they were not her priority. No, whoever had her Vhaanir would not be able to get it indoors, they were such fickle creatures. One might even call them proud, if fleeting.

She clenched one hand with indignation. Perhaps she would have to wander a little further afield.

Éar guide me she prayed, after all it was one of the Goddess' own which had been taken.

She barely noticed the man who stomped out of the mechanics, so set in her task was she. Though she did pick up on the strange signature he seemed to emanate, amidst a swathe of humans he was like a beacon. Her head turned in his direction for a mere second, though unlike the natives of this world there was no distrust, disdain or even curiosity. If anything she was pleasantly surprised, it wasn't every day one saw such an ancient species who had long been thought gone.
