My Master [Thurion Heavenshield]

The Silver Sanctum

Grand Master [member="Thurion Heavenshield"]
Only a day she had been on Voss, Abaigeal had come home. Gone are most of those that had been here from the start, you could count them on one hand. So much had changed since the little girl would run the corridors of the Silver Temple so free and free of spirit. One man had been there from the begins, a good friend of her mother's over years now and he more than most is her only connection to her although Iella will always be living in her heart.

She owed it to him, to come and tell him what had happened and why from her own lips not those of the words of a report. Her old mentor is grand master now, having taken up the mantle after her mother's death and by all accounts is doing a great job which did not surprise her one bit. Although informed he is to be found in the chamber room, Abaigeal knew, the old ties allowed her to sense him. Just like she did at Mon Cal, no more hiding ..

He is waiting, standing pensive. Abaigeal enters the room which over looked the tumbling waters bellow, an ocean stretching as far as the eye can see, crested before their sight. She walks to the center of the chamber across a floor made of white marble, her eyes find him his back to her as he looks across the rolling ocean, she stops without a word spoken, he would know she is there .. and she knees her arms move to the side in supplication with her head bowed. The once child now fully grow woman would face her final challenge to find solace.

"Forgive me my master", she whispers and would never hide her emotion of sorrow. In her last move toward supplication, Abaigeal pushed forward to lay on the cold marble floor face down, her arms straight out to the side. It is a position of the Sith when facing a master, many times forced into this state in front of Darth Vornskr, she knew nothing else but this.

Master Heavenshield, this does not need to be a long thread, and please take your time

It wouldn't be long now. Soon the Grandmaster and his wife would take some time off and journey the stars together, just the two of them. Their goal was to visit the Cathedral of Winds on planet Vortex, on the edge of Sith space. It could prove dangerous, but they were confident in their abilities and intel suggested the planet was not heavily fortified. What could ever go wrong? So, now he simply stood gazing across the sea counting every minute until takeoff. Hopefully the likes of [member="Siobhan Kerrigan"] or [member="Valiens Nantaris"] wouldn't resort to burning the place down while they were gone; she while showing off her powerful Force abilities or he while chasing down Twi'lek girls.

A presence drew close, someone he'd known for a long time but hadn't seen for almost as long. "Abi," he spoke as he turned around only to find her on her knees, submitting herself to him as if her captor. He too got down on his knees in front of her and pulled her into an embrace. "My sweet child... You have nothing to be sorry for." He pulled away to get a better look at her face, trying to find the little girl he once met. It was difficult, but she was undeniably there. "I'm the one who should ask for forgiveness. Had I known about your mother's mission when she left that day I would've never let her go."

He hugged her again, hand stroking the back of her head. "I'm just glad you've returned safe and sound, Abaigeal. You're home now."

A strong sense of relief coupled with sadness was the look in her eyes as they met his. He, as gentle as ever, a little older but but same master she knew so long ago. "You know?", she finally asked.

"I have been carrying so much guilt .. if I had not gone off . . this would never have happened, she would not needed to have come for me", her blue eyes matching his in fixed gaze. "You would never have stopped her, you know that, she was too stubborn. If she did not come for me, I would not be here now, I would still be in the ... horror", she let out a shuddered sigh. She would not tell of the torture endured, the systematic cutting of her flesh, piece by piece firstly for experiment secondly for fun. That she lay naked on a metal slab, feeling her blood drain from her body until near death only to be ripped back from the bliss of ending the pain and suffering. She did not given then, it was not until the assault on her mind that she succumbed to his will.

"He .. taunted her, contacted her here in Temple, showing her footage of me suspended in the air by my hands, twisted with darkness, the signs of .. his will on my body. And demanded her to come, if she wanted me alive", she looked at him, tears streaming down her face. "What would you have done? you would have never stopped her".

Thurion looked her over, taking mental notes on any signs of physical harm. He frowned. "You're right, I wouldn't. I would've followed her, as I had always done." Grabbing her by both shoulders, he got her up on her feet before wrapping his Jedi robe around her. "Your mother was like a sister to me, Abi," he told her as they stopped by a marble statue of Iella carved in loving detail. Not by his hand this time, but a proper professional sculptor. "When I was elected Grandmaster I thought it impossible to fill her shoes, for how could anyone even hope to live up to the legacy she left behind? All of this," he said, gesturing to the room they were in. "It's all her doing. None of this would be possible without her there to lead us."

Stepping closer to the statue, Thurion gently grabbed Abi by the wrist and placed the palm of her hand upon her mother's cheek. "She lives on in you now, Abaigeal. Her strength, her wisdom and her compassion is all in you." He took a step back to leave her some personal space, if only to let the moment sink in.

She could only stare into his eyes the entire time he spoke to her. Upon lifting her back to her feet and placing his robe around her shoulders, Abaigeal recalled the first day she had met Thurion, he had done the very same that day as a small little girl came running into the Silver Temple covered in dirt with twigs in her long hair, all but naked and looking for her mother. He had found her, this three year old tear away and took her under his wing. She smiled so softly.

"I know", was all she could whisper in response to him regarding how he felt about mother, Abaigeal knew her mother had considered him as brother and more importantly, a great friend. He spoke further, about how he felt about taking up the mantle but she did not say anything of that yet.

Her hand, now placed on her mother's cheek felt so cold. Every detail of her face captured there but it is lifeless, and so Abaigeal let her hand drop to her side but for a moment she remained looking into the her mother's face. He is correct, she lives with her now, in her heart just like those that had known her, and so finally she turned away to face her master once more.

"She did not like shoes, besides I don't think her shoes would suit you", she said with a beaming smile, a smile like her mothers. "Master Heavenshield .. Thurion, yes she began this and faced much opposition at the time, she was lucky in the sense she had great friends that believed in her and followed and helped her do this. And she held them all in very high esteem for trusting in her, but one person had come to help that did not need too, that supported the Silver Jedi from the start and was there as advisory .. you. She never forgot that, her dear friend did not question her but held out his hand to help guide the formation of what would become a great Order. Yes, she started it but you have pushed it to more and I know she is proud of you. She would not wish for you to walk in her footsteps but to firmly leave a legacy of your own. And and I see you have done just that".

Abaigeal reached out and placed her hand on his arm, "Thank you", her thanks for allowing her to come home without question. She stood for a moment, considering what she would like to do now home but time will decide that however..

"I .. I don't suppose you would come with me to the kitchen and help me eat a bowl of berries?", she hoped the kitchen still stocked them.

His eyes went from the statue of Iella to her daughter, so very much alike yet so different in both spirit and appearance. When she'd finished her speech Thurion simply embraced her once more. "Thank you, child. Your mother would be proud of you, as I am." It was more the fatherly kind of pride than that of a mentor he felt, knowing the many hardships she'd undoubtedly gone through since she left years ago. Yet here she was, home again and ready to nurture her Jedi roots rather than run away from it.

"Now come," he then said, wrapping an arm around her shoulders as they made for the kitchen. "You'll have all the berries you can eat," he added with a chuckle.
