My new master awaits me

After standing before the council watching them exchange words, they had came to a decision to who would train Sanya. They had sent her out the room as another Jedi entered. by this point she was a nervous reck but trying as much as possible to hide it.

Other Jedi walked past, some looked and smiled at her as others was in a rush. She had stood outside the room now for a few minutes, her nerves had died down giving a moment to calm down. the other Jedi walked out the room and approach sanya, she bowed to the other Jedi out of respect. "h...hello"

"Sanya," Maria spoke. She had just arrived to the hallway with the information that she will be the master of another Padawan. She was feeling just as nervous as when she herself had been assigned to a master. It was like a cycle. Some way.

The Jedi Knight bowed before the young student. Wearing a maroon red robe and a lightsaber with a hilt looking nothing like a Jedi's hilt looked, she was a bit odd, but she didn't let that become a distraction for her ever again. She had been accepted to the order that way, and even though she wasn't like most Jedi due to her heritage and history, she was still a lightsider deep inside.

"It's nice to meet you, my young student. I am Maria."

As Maria's eyes scanned sanya up and down the words she spoke seemed rather calming to her. a small smile struck across sanya's face, "it's a pleasure to meet you too master" it was the formal way for a padawan to address there teacher and higher up in the chain of ranks, she had learnt this from the story's when she was a child.

it had been made clear to sanya that each Jedi teaches there student in different ways, this made her some what eager to find out if there was some sort of plan that Maria had, or if she was the more improvise to what feels right, but what if she was strict. sanya had realized that she was over thinking things after all she had just starte, the first thing would have to be is how dose she find her way around this place it felt like a labyrinth. "If you have any questions about me I will answer them, I have nothing to hide"

"That is good. Trust is an essential part to being a good Jedi," Maria spoke. She smiled to the young girl, indicating her friendliness, and then continued, "Where are you from, Sanya?" She had been given no information of the woman besides her name and her want to be a Healer - or at least something close to a Healer. Having a second Padawan was difficult, especially because she already had a hard time at teaching one of them. But this time, she felt a bit more secure. She felt good to have another student.

Maria didn't want to give all about herself away to the Padawan yet, so she didn't tell her anything about her own home planet, even though it could have given Sanya a feeling that she can trust the woman. It was too early for her to learn these terrifying things.

Maria had asked a question that sanya had been asked a thousand times, normally she would avoid answering and sanya had her reasons, here there was no need to hide her past as the Jedi would understand, maybe. "I was born on corellia, but I spent most part of my life moving from system to system" corellia was a place she had avoided especially after what happened. "and the past few years I've been living here with a friend he looked after me, taught me things." Maria asked a straight forward question but sanya was ready to give a life story, well most of it. she lifted her hand to the back of her head "sorry I went on a bit there, I guess it's the nerves making me babble a little." letting out a small giggle and lowering hand back down to her side.

sanya's stomach had begun to growl at her, and with the anticipation to get today started, she had not eaten yet. "I'm sorry to be a nuisance, but may we talk over something to eat. I kinda forgot to this morning" this was quite embarrassing for sanya normally she would be prepared but today was a big day for her and this morning she was in a rush to make sure she had looked presentable for the council and her new master.

"That is okay. But I should note that it's important to find time for a breakfast even in this crazy life full of hurry," Maria said while smiling to the young Padawan. She had to say, she looked like a person with a character. Might be a fun apprenticeship, she guessed. "Now, let's go. Where would you like to eat? I'll pay." She remembered how she had payed for the new clothes her other Padawan had got. She had money and she wanted to spend a bit on the future Jedi Knights. Was there something wrong with that?

She would wait for Sanya's response, then they would start moving to the location she would pick. On the way, Maria would ask the student another question, "What do you know of the Jedi philosophy?"

Sanya appreciated the offer, she didn't know outside the temple that well, and had hardly had the chance to explore the area. the only place she had been was the public gardens to go think when something was on her mind, although this was mainly at night when no one was around, it left the place quite and nothing to district her. across the garden there was a place called Korgos Diner. "could we go to Korgos diner it's close by and I'm yet to try it?" Maria nodded her head and we started walking.

on the way Maria asked sanya about her knowledge of the Jedi philosophy, she knew some but there was lots of holes from things sanya had yet to read. "I know the Jedi code and other bits. but I'm yet to read up on alot of it" as they both entered the diner, they both took a seat by the windows overlooking the garden.

Sanya took the opportunity to ask a question, "master? may I ask how many students you have train before me?" the question was more curious than anything else, and was simply wanting to get to know the person who will be training her.

Korgos Dinner it was.

Maria only nodded to the Padawan when she talked about her knowledge. That was typical. There was a need for development and she would have loved to help Sanya at getting that. But she was also a bit terrified. Her own opinions often entwined with the Jedi philosophy and she was even a bit afraid that she would accidentally tell the girl something that is not a Jedi way. Even the thoughts of that made her shiver. She'd have to start going to the libraries to get more knowledge of the stuff.

"Students?" Maria asked when they were already sitting at the restaurant. "I have got none to Knight, but I have one more student at the moment. I don't know if you've met. Caleb Brolen is his name." She looked out of the window and admired the beauty which stood there. It was a nice day.

"Why do you ask?"

Sanya smiles at Maria "I was curious, I guess." sanya let out a small giggle and looked at the view of the garden, "I often go there when I have trouble thinking. there is something about the surroundings and been able to see the stars that help me think" she then turnd her head back, and looked at the menu picking out pancakes with a fruit syrup on top. waiting for someone to take there order sanya asked another question. "how did you become a Jedi?"

she knew everyone had been introduced to the order in different ways, and this question could lead into an interesting conversation. sanya always loved hearing story's and the true ones where the best one's.

Maria's jaw nearly dropped and her eyes widened. She hadn't expected a question like that as such an early time. It was typically the other way around that masters asked questions from their young students. But whatever -- as she had told her other Padawan about her past, she had to do the same this time. Now she at least knew what kind of a reaction to expect.

"I... um... Came from the Sith," Maria spoke. It was better to be straightforward than a bit riddling. "Redemption's what brought me to the Order. I wanted to go light, so I did, trough a lot of hard work."

She looked at the Padawan. She didn't know how Sanya would react; she hadn't known her for long enough.

This had slightly shocked Sanya that her master was once a sith but it came with benefits. Maria had knowledge of what it was to be a sith, and Sanya could learn from her mistakes if she ever started to go down that path. maria would be the first to pull her back and guide her. "apart from been sith, it's not all that bad. You have more to show for it after all. Besides all in all this would make you a better teacher than most, say for example if I started losing the way of been a jedi, you would pick up on it faster than what other masters would you can guide me to the path I belong on. destiny works in strange ways." Sanya let out a smile but felt guilty of asking the question, she wasn't one to ask a question that made someone feel uncomfortable. After all sanya knew what it was like to carry a burden that followed you everywhere even if it was something that she came to terms with.

A small twi'lek girl came over to the table to take out order. "Hello welcome to Korgos Diner. May i take your orders please?" Sanya looked over to the girl and gave her reply " Yes, could i have pancakes with the fruit syrup please." Sanya was never big on meat it was normally rough and hard to chew, she looked over to maria to see if she was also having something.

Sanya's reaction was something Maria hadn't expected at all. It was a sign of being a potential true Jedi -- thinking with a clear mind, setting fears and other corrupting emotions aside. She hadn't even thought about being a better teacher due to having walked the dark path in the past, but... now that the girl had mentioned it, it all made sense.

"I'd like a fruit salad, please, and a cup of coffee with milk and sugar," she spoke to the waitress. It was adorable to see such a young girl doing such a job, but... it was also a bit sad.

"Yes, so that was my story," Maria continued after the girl had left, "but there's a lot more to talk about. I will tell you all of my redemption some time later. Right now, I would like to learn a bit more about you. So I was told you'd like to learn healing? Could you tell me why are you interested in that?"

sanya briefly thought about something her mother told her. "my mother told me that the smallest cuts can hurt the most. what she ment by that was the smallest things make the biggest difference. I may be only one person, but if I can make a diffence to someone's life for the better then I will. before the Jedi found me I spent my life treating those in the slums who could not afford for medical treatment. any chance I had to learn a new skill I took it" sanya always wanted to help anyone she could, it's what her mother would have wanted.

[member="Maria Natalja"]

"That is a noble cause," Maria said, "and I think your mother was right. The smallest cuts can hurt the most, and they are the root of all larger cuts." She nodded as a way to show her agreement with the words, and then continued, "I think you should go the road of a Healer, indeed. You seem to be ready and have the potential. But today's not the day of learning. Today's the day of getting to know each other."

She looked at the way of the kitchen, but their food showed no signs of arriving. Later she understood that her empty stomach might have had effects on her logical thinking because there was no way the food could already be ready.

"I don't even know why I learned healing. I guess... I was just wanting to help people. Or I just had a lot of potential in it and didn't want to leave it unused."

Sanya was glad it was a day of talking. With her nerves been all over today she wouldn't have been able to focus. "I know in the Jedi code it says there is no passion, there is serenity, but I guess healing is my passion, and that passion leads me to serenity. It makes me feel better about myself, knowing I did everything I could to help someone in a time of need. Even if I couldn't heal them just knowing I tried means something not just to me but to others too."

Sanya's stomach started rumbling and the smell of all the food didn't help, but there food couldn't take that much longer could it? "Any skill is worthwhile knowing even if you didn't use it you can teach it to other's. It's how I've always seen things from a learning aspect." Sanya giggled before her face became more serious "I grew up teaching myself. I had no one to look after me. There are still things to this day that I wish I could go back and change but they happened for a reason... even if was the worse thing that happened to me. It lead me here after all"

Moments later the food that they order had arrived. It was the same twi'lek as before. "I apologize for the delay." She placed Both plates onto the table. "Enjoy your meal." The girl smiled, and Sanya return the smile before saying "thank you." as she left, Sanya picked up the knife and fork and began eating her meal.

[member="Maria Natalja"]

Maria eyed the food she had ordered and her mouth started watering. She muttered a "Thank you!" before the waitress left and then she took her knife and fork, preparing to eat. "The past is a thing we can't change, so we must accept it the way it is. Every little piece of our history has shaped us to what we are now, and what we will be in the future. Being afraid of your own past is a sign of you not appreciating who you are, while wanting to change who you once were is a sign of you not being sure of who you are and what you are doing."

She put her fork into a fruit -- it was a small piece resembling a mango. The fork made its way into the Jedi Knight's mouth and as soon as the piece of fruit ended up inside her, she felt like she was in a heaven.

"There will be lessons on how to accept yourself, but that'll happen in the future. Now, let's eat our meals. Bon appetite, my young Padawan!" She smiled to Sanya before starting to eat again.

Sanya cleared her plate using the last pice of pancaked to soak up the last bit so syrup. she lent back in the seat and let out a small sigh and looked at Maria. "I do accept what has happened after all the past is in the past and I shouldn't dwell on it, but... when I feel right talking about it I'll tell you how I came to traveling throughout my childhood, and I'm not going to lie it was hard to accept. it broke me."

It was a topic that was still hard to talk about, Sanya hadn't told anyone about what happened on corellia. how that day she felt so rejected, so hated and so alone in the universe. Been with the Jedi has helped her alot moving past it. Sanya reached into a little satchel attached to her waist and pulled out a small box with the ribbon still on "this is the last piece of the past i have left, but I could never bring myself to open it." she put both of her index fingers and thumb's on to each end of the ribbon. "I guess it's time I should." Sanya pulled each end of the ribbon till it was off the box, she took the top off and inside was a small black and purple crystal like rock. Sanya was expecting to cry but instead she smiled. she has read the archives enough to know what it was. it was a saber crystal.

Maria continued eating her food. There was no need for her to deep into the young student's personal life. It was disrespectful and not polite at all. But she still wanted to peek a little bit to see what the girl had got. "A lightsaber crystal..." Maria murmured softly, whispering.

She set her fork aside and looked at the student again. "So I can see you have your crystal and are ready to make your own saber?" She smiled to the girl and then dug into her food again. At least she didn't have to go to Ilum with her. She would have quite hated that. Going for an adventure was a good thing, but going for something like that was not something Maria loved.

Political adventures were her favourite, the second were those where she could help civilians.
