OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Age: Adult
  • Force Sensitivity: Semi-Trained Force Sensitive; never became a Padawan
  • Species: Pylantian
  • Appearance: Mylakhrion is a male Pylantian with conventionally handsome looks. He resembles his father, but has his mother's green eyes. His wavy brown hair is short and neatly combed back. He is most often seen wearing the ukhith, a traditional Pylantian style of dress consisting of a high-collared suit. His right hand is prosthetic, though it has been made to look like a normal hand with synthetic skin and hidden circuitry.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Mylakhrion Cthylla, aka "Mylak"
  • Loyalties: Kassogtha Cthylla, other members of his family, friends
  • Wealth: Political aide salary
  • Notable Possessions:
    • Prosthetic hand
  • Skills: With a galactic education, history of traveling the stars, and ability to speak multiple languages not commonly found on Pylos, Mylak is far more worldly than his peers. Because of his upbringing offworld as the son of two Jedi, he has an acute understanding of how non-Pylantians think. He can thus offer a more aggressive-minded approach to diplomacy, which is why he was chosen to serve as an aide to the Pylantian ambassador.
  • Languages:
    • Galactic Basic (native)
    • Common Tongue (fluent)
    • Binary (fluent)
    • Bocce (a few phrases)
    • Huttese (semi-fluent)
  • Personality:
  • Family Members:
COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Weapon of Choice: Blasters | Blades | Fists & Feet
  • Combat Function: Compared to his fellow Pylantians, who are are typically peaceful nonviolent beings, Mylak is notable for his combat training; learning martial arts was part of his upbringing. He can use a blaster well enough to defend himself from common thugs and some NFU soldiers. He cannot use a lightsaber, however, and would not be able to stand alone against a Sith Acolyte or Jedi Padawan.
  • Force Abilities (Force Users Only): Having never progressed beyond the level of Jedi Youngling, Mylak's abilities include limited precognition (also known as danger sense), basic telekinesis, and heightened reflexes. He can also clear his mind, preventing other FUs from sensing his feelings. In times of emotional upheaval, he has been known to channel the Dark Side, with unpredictable (and usually violent) results.
Strengths:
  • Gentleman and a Scholar: Mylak is a diplomat with command over multiple languages. He is intelligent, quick-witted, and has a good understanding of how non-Pylantians think and feel—a rare trait among his people.
  • Hunk of Hunks: Male Pylantians are widely considered to be physically attractive. Mylak is no different, though this is typically a passive trait and not something he will actively take advantage of.
  • Harmonious Existence: Pylantians have not evolved to compete with their own kind for resources. Mylak is cooperative by nature and generally works well with others, though he could never be called passive.
Weaknesses:
  • Noncompetitive: Due to their lack of a competitive drive, Pylantians are mentally ill-suited for the violent conflicts that plague the galaxy. Mylak benefits from having been raised within the martial traditions of the Jedi, but he is often at a disadvantage when attacked or confronted.
  • Troubled: It can be difficult to understand Mylak, who inherited both his father's depression and his mother's anxiety. Veering between powerful emotional states, he is constantly at war with himself, sometimes appearing prickly and standoffish. He distances himself from those who love him and is vulnerable to falling under the sway of the Dark Side.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

"Mylak's life has been… difficult. All of our children had it rough. But while the others adapted and overcame the hurdles that were thrown at them, Mylak struggled. He wants things that are impossible. He blames the galaxy for his problems. I did the same thing when I was his age."
- Oukranos Cthylla

Born on Pylos Satnik, Mylakhrion Cthylla was the second child of Jedi Knights Oukranos and Kassogtha Cthylla. After his birth his parents brought him back to the Silver Rest on Kashyyyk, where he and his siblings were raised.

As he was found to be Force Sensitive, it was expected that Mylak would become a Jedi like his parents. His elder brother, Zhar, had flagged behind the other students of the Silver Jedi, struggling to progress beyond basic training, and his little sister Celephaïs wasn't Force sensitive enough to even be considered. Mylak's prospects seemed much better, as he did well in youngling classes. However, he struggled with feeling like an outsider and didn't fit in socially. As he grew older he became resentful toward the Jedi Order and his parents, wishing that they had allowed him to grow up on their homeworld alongside his own kind.

Mylak would ultimately choose not to take the exams which would have promoted him to Padawan. His parents supported him as he pursued other vocations, but tensions rose in the household, particularly between Mylak and his father. Oukranos and Kass both struggled to understand their son's anger, which was primarily directed at the Order, but also toward them for, in his words, "depriving me of a normal life".

In the end Mylak would grow distant from his family, choosing to leave home and move to Pylos. There he finished his schooling and soon landed a job as a diplomatic aide. Because of his knowledge of the galaxy and other skills, he was assigned to Ambassador Azathoth Sirami, a role which would see him unwittingly leaving his homeworld and reuniting with his parents. In a failed bid to ensure Pylos' immunity from invasion, Sirami struck a deal with the Sith which led him to betray the Jedi, capturing and imprisoning both Grandmaster Valery Noble and Master Oukranos. Mylak accompanied his mother on the ensuing rescue mission, losing his right hand to Darth Saya's blade. After defeating Saya and escaping the Sith, Mylak received a prosthetic hand to replace the one he lost. His employment under Sirami came to an abrupt end as the former ambassador was arrested, though he was swiftly rehired by Sirami's successor...
