SETTING INFORMATION

Accessibility: Hard to find and reach, the peak it was built upon straddles the lards of the horselords and Atrisia with a mountain pass. The narrow pass, the elevation and the weather make attacking from the ground very difficult. From the air it has anti air towers for defense and clear lines of sight within the skies.
Description: Ancient and remote, the Fortress of Myobu was thought lost for thousands of years until it was rediscovered by Aoi's mother. She saw the oily black stone repaired, the massive towers and watch towers restored. With a massive central bridge that was converted from stone into a light bridge that can connect it and be used to isolate from attackers. The towers have a large view of the open area where emplacement guns have been set up. Tram lines that connect with gentoku trams to main lines going through the mountains and mobile orchid platforms able to straddle and patrol around the valley the fortress occupies.

POINTS OF INTEREST
Throne Room: Darkly lit from the massive wall of flames that Aoi sits behind. With pillars engraved with distorted faces from people Aoi has battled and killed.

Gallery: Large pictures of important people to Aoi that have been painted by hand. Ranging from her mother and father, to child and husband but also nobles she has known and former friends.

The Garden: Beautiful trees that gleam and look almost alive with flames but it is an illusion created with mirrors and angles.

The Beacons of Sinui: Created to cross the vast mountain range and reach other fortress of the dawn. Massive pyres that were from before communication systems but are maintained in the event of damage or invasion.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Built by the Onyx Empress, the ancient fortress was erected at the primary mountain range that led to the lands of the horselords of Atrisia. To protect against their raiders the soldiers had the high ground and long lines of sight. Watch towers that would alert the other forts should raiders be brought form the horselords. The oily black stones carved from the nearby mountains and sculpted into the central peak with a village down below it. In the shadows of the mountain and in the honeycomb of tunnels below the initial fortress. The soldiers were kept in service to the Onyx empress herself as reserves i case she needed an invasion force.

After her death the fortress was largely ignored and allowed to fall into disrepair but the stone didn't crumble.. the black stone in rumors and legends holding the cruel essence of the Onyx empress herself and that is why it was tainted as she had sent one of her finest generals to see the construction finished. The fortress sat there collecting ghost stories from the few villagers and the Horselords didn't approach it for fear of spirits that might attack them. By the time the Onna came with Aoi at the behest of her mother Sawa the fortress and villages was long abandoned. The delays in their travel which saw Aoi attacked in the night and her face marred.

She discovered the pathways under the mountain it was situated on. arterial routes that armor divisions and soldiers in fomration could move through to reach the large central chamber. Easily twenty kilometers across with a black column that goes up and into the central towers as it protrudes from the mountain. It was a strange area but it had been used to house many more she could see and the first initial location they set up to secure was the pathway up to the fortress itself. Aoi taking charge with what would become known as the Jeoseung Saja. Her version of the Onna who served her mother and were fiercely loyal to her.

They restored the entrances of the mountain and fortified it before moving up. Legends about the dangerous things that had happened here being told to them by a guide who had led them through the mountain passes. Tales of the general who was sent here and fearing death for not coming to the empresses call. He planted orange trees in the garden as they would ward off evil. For four days something moved around outside of the garden and his quarters until it found a peach tree and was able to cross. Once inside of the garden he had silver pins in his hair which warded off the evil being. So the thing hid under the floor for several days.

When he went to wash and removed them he was taken to the underworld to answer for his betrayal of the Empress but that wasn't the end. He managed to come back, to survive and reconnect his spirit to his body but his men had already buried him and he suffocated. The guide looked at them like they were supposed to learn a reason not to be here but Aoi had been raised in a kingdom of the dead and pressed them forward up into the mountain itself. Finding the fortresses ancient bridge destroyed and that was one of the first projects they would have to get finished. Rebuilding it but also what soldiers they had and engineers going through to see the fortress.

It would still take nearly one hundred years of work to bring one of the towers of the fortress back to a full working order. Aoi learned the fate of The Shamed One the one who survived the village that tried to kill her and her fate as dulled out by her mother was a dangerous wrath... she knew it well just like she knew that the fortress itself would be just another babble for her mother if it was completed. She would have to move and get it to be her own when information about much of what they had been finding was also there. Technology and relics from the different centuries as welll as raided and recovered pieces from ships that had been coming to Atrisia or trying to attack it and been taken out by anti-air turrets.

They quarried the stone around them , recreating and finishing the ancient gate that was being built to the land of the horselords... to divide them from the area as they didn't send raiding parties but they observed. The dangerous and thickly muscled males of them who were believed to have taken several of their soldier patrols in the night. There was no proff but when they finished the gates they didn't have to deal with them as they got turrets and more defensive measures. The village below slowly starting to repopulate as some came following friends while others were recruited from around Atrisia to restore it and thrive.

And thrive they did Aoi had managed to turn the ruined fortress and its abandoned village into a decent sized community that would serve to feed itself and the fortress while also trading mined materials from a quarry and mines around the area with outside villages and even major cities. her mother was even in a good mood when Aoi presented her daught

Elise Ike to her and asked for the fortress and area to be hers alone. She would still come when called but she would be able to have her own men and wouldn't be supervised by her mothers advisors. With the good news Sawa agreed and let Aoi develop the fortress into her own place.

The throne room was one fo the first things she did, pillars had been set up with spikes originally and she changed it, frescoes of contorted faces in pain. A living column of agony as she recalled the faces of everyone that she had killed whether intentionally or unintentionally. They wrapped around the different pillars and the massive throne sat in the middle of a square. She had shapers come who could create and maintain the flames around her as the form of protection with a heat shield wall and it gave a wonderfully dark and imposing look. Her seat was perfectly measured and safe but it was the illusion that she was right in the middle that was important.

They continued to build and rebuild the fortress over the centuries as plague came from the galaxy and spread throughout. Many died but the dark age afterwards served to ensure that the fortress continued to remain isolated. They upgraded the technology like the rest of Atrisia but largely avoided communications unless it was required as the area of the continent was largely ignored. Her mother glad to keep the lands beneath the fortress of the dawn secured with her onna and Aoi would keep the mountains themselves closed to travel. Other pathways into the lands of the horselords could exist but they were avoided in favor of ships and travel.

The opening of the netherworld rifts and galaxy brought her attention to the world as she believed her father roamed the halls of the fortress trying to find her. It didn't last long with a lot of the dangers that were around and the near constant state of war or attacks that were coming to Atrisia. Aoi served best with what reinforcements she could bring to the forefront to aid the army in its efforts to rebuild and eventually it did as they sold grain and livestock raised in the mountains to the cities to feed the people. She saw the technological jump happen as a new era and new emperor was in place... the changes an high technology to target scarcity problems was important and the fortress started to thrive with its village.
