STRENGTHS
- Precise hyperdrive: The hyperdrive of this ship is abnormally precise, helping it stay in rough formation when exiting from hyperspace
- Strafer: The laser cannons mounted on this fighter are fast-firing, great for strafing armoured vehicles and infantry
WEAKNESSES
- Radiation leaking drive: The drive on this fighter constantly leaks radiation, announcing its presence before dropping into realspace. This often gives enemies time to scramble their own fighters
- Not a dogfighter: The Owl lacks the maneuverability needed for turn fighting, as they are built for strafing runs
DESCRIPTION
The second fighter produced as part of Nothmir’s fleet modernization program, the Owl carries proper firepower for its role in the form of both laser cannons and missiles. This allows the pilot to engage soft and hard targets, and stand a chance against hard air targets like heavy bombers and other highly armoured craft.
The cockpit layout allows for the astromech to be housed behind the pilot, and simultaneously provide mechanical and navigational aid, and be protected by the starfighter’s armour.
