Description: This weapon was created for the sole purpose of close quarters action. The top loading drum magazine means that it is impossible to use a top mounted sight on this weapon. Therefore, it is usually hip fired. It is made to clear rooms, hallways, and scummy cantinas. Therefore, it suffers from minimal range. Also, it can only hold 20 rounds. This amount of ammunition can be burned through extremely quickly, especially when in double barrel mode.

I'd recommend making this heavier. The more weight the weapon has, the less perceived recoil it will have, which will make it more controllable.

This amount of ammunition can be burned through extremely quickly, especially when in fully automatic double barrel mode.

An automatic, handheld 8 bore/gauge shotgun would probably be uncontrollable, especially if both barrels were firing.

Generally you can have exceptional rate of fire or exceptional power in a slugthrower, so I see three options for this submission:

1) Focus on the rate of fire: Keep the double-barrel and automatic modes of fire, but make the bore/gauge something lighter and easier to control (20 gauge, 28 gauge, etc).

2) Focus on Power: 8 bore/gauge firearms do exist, but the amount of recoil that they generate typically makes practical high rates of fire impractical. Make this weapon semiautomatic.

3) Rate of Fire / Power Compromise: Keep the automatic fire mode (but not the double barrel fire mode) and make the gauge somewhere between 12 - 20.
