TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Classification: Shotgun ammunition

  • Size: Available in all common shotgun gauges

  • Length: Typical for its gauge

  • Weight: Light for its gauge

  • Ammunition Type: Webbing shot

  • Ammunition Capacity: One net per shell, wound and compressed

  • Effective Range: 2–15 m

  • Rate of Fire: /
SPECIAL FEATURES

  • Interferes with the Force

  • Adhesive net, 2×2 m
Strengths:

  • Force nope: The glistaweb woven into the net makes it impossible to manipulate it with the Force.

  • Stronk: Between the glistaweb and the NT-1 fibers used in its construction, the net is deceptively resistant. Blaster bolts have a tendency to bounce off in unpredictable directions if shot at the web. Blades will kill the glistaweb, but the tight-wound filaments of the NT-1 will prove impressively difficult to cut through. With a lightsaber, however, this is achieved in a matter of scant seconds.

  • Tangle: The adhesive is triggered upon impact with a solid surface – i.e. the target – greatly increasing the effectiveness of the webbing in tangling an opponent. The ball bearings attached to the ends of the net act as weights that first help expand the web; upon impact they wrap around the target due to momentum, further entrapping the opponent.
Weaknesses:

  • Near: While shotguns are traditionally considered perfect for close- and point-blank range, such is not true with the Spider shell. If the opponent is within two meters (or closer) to the shooter, the webbing won’t have time to expand and will hit the target as an ineffective wad of wound fiber.

  • Far: The net expands shortly after leaving the barrel, and it’s only because of streamlined design that it can even reach the fifteen-meter mark. Beyond that, the web will quickly fall to the ground as it loses momentum.

  • Wherever you are: The ‘shot’ deals no actual damage to the target, no matter at what distance they are hit – or entangled, as it were.

  • Alive: Whether natural of Force-born, lightning will kill the glistaweb woven into the net. Cutting it up sufficiently with a lightsaber or a blade will likewise do the same. Upon its death, the web will lose all Force-dead properties.
DESCRIPTION
The Spider shell is the ultimate weapon for the Space-mage hunter who prefers to collect live bounties.

Made from the material as the E-Series Armor underlay, manipulating the material is nothing new to Nadir.

Instead of a tightly-woven suit, however, the form it takes this time is that of a net. The fibers of NT-1, Myoflex, and Glistaweb are wound first into tight, if extremely thin cables; in turn, these are interwoven with each other to form a dense webbing designed to entrap opponents. The final net is given a coat of impact adhesive.

To further its range and tangling capabilities, the endpoints of the net are welded to tungsten ball bearings. Though small, together they amount to a decent mass that aids in two areas: one, to help it expand more quickly and fly further; and two, to wrap around the target once the body of the web hits it, allowing the net to adhere to itself and trap the limbs of the opponent.

Force nope: The glistaweb woven into the net interferes with the usage of the Force. While it doesn’t negate it completely – like a Ysalamiri bubble might – the webbing is dense enough that it dampens anything Force-related. From imbued items to alchemy, and of course Force users themselves, anything caught inside it will have problems functioning correctly.
I'm not seeing anything on the Wookie that says Glistaweb has this property. With out that, I have to ask this strength or the materials be reworked.

While I have given you in previous submissions the minor ability to allow direct force attacks to not be utilize against glistaweb itself, please do not forget that glistaweb is a living entity. It does not dampen the Force itself, just that it will be a bit harder to affect the glistaweb directly.

You still need the following weaknesses.
  • If the glistaweb dies, it can no longer block blasters.
  • It is still subject to baffor pollen
  • It is still subject to all matter of weaknesses of living entities
  • and no where does it state that glistaweb isn't capable of being cut with a vibroshiv.

I do not want to continue seeing submissions where you are pushing the limits to what glistaweb is capable of doing.

Please edit your submission to state that while the Force is harder to affect the glistaweb directly, Force users can still use the Force. It is also affected by Force lightining, potentially being able to kill the living entity.

Also, thank you for bringing up previous approvals that have been erroneously approved with suggestions that it can do otherwise. I will be going over them anew.
