TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Classification: Garrotte

  • Size: Handheld

  • Length: 80 cm for the whole cord (effectively 40 because of the loop); 10 cm for each handle

  • Weight: 0.2 kg
SPECIAL FEATURES

  • Heat – the two cords of the garrotte can be made to heat up extremely quickly thanks to NT-1’s properties. This function can be utilized at the press of a button on the handle, to close the circuit. The power cell will then run electricity through the highly conductive material, heating it up to an extremely high temperature in a very small period of time.

  • Double loop – unlike your common garrotte, this design employs a looped cord. In practice, this means that even if the victim pulls on one of the cords, they will only succeed in further tightening the other.
Strengths:

  • Sssizzle: The heating function of the garrotte can turn a slow cutting and/or strangulation attempt into clean decapitation, adding an immense amount of cutting power to the thin cords. It can also burn through fabrics and light armor due to its extreme temperature. Needless to say, it cauterizes the wound also, reducing the potential mess of an arterial spray.
Weaknesses:

  • Melee: To properly use this weapon, the user must close into extreme close-quarters range, which requires both skill and stealth.

  • Armor: Despite its heating function, the garrotte is useless against anything above light armor. Against high-end materials, it’s possible the cords will snap if exposed to too much stress, destroying the weapon.

  • Sssizzle: While the heating function is very useful, the user should use it judiciously. The extreme temperatures can easily give their presence away on thermal or infrared scanners, not to mention any guard with a working set of eyes will see the white-hot glow of the cords. In daylight, this is less of a problem – but who the hell conducts stealth missions in daylight?
DESCRIPTION

Big guns and big explosions are all fun and games, but far more often, assassinations happen quietly in the dead of night. Nadir acknowledges this, and has thus entered a perfectly-suited weapon into the market yet again.

The Nadir Plus-series Garrotte is a tried-and-true design made even better. A fine, tight weave of NT-1 is run in a loop through the insulating handles, providing an immensely strong cord on its own. But should the user find themselves facing a lighty-armored guard, or a very small window of time, the P-series offers another function.

At the press of a button, the circuit can be completed, and the power cell runs electricity through the conductive NT-1. The cords, thin as they are, heat up extremely quickly, and easily burn through flesh and fabrics. Light armor still presents a challenge, and requires a considerable exertion of power from the user – Nadir also recommends that you employ a ‘sawing’ motion with the cord to aid in the speed of the cut.

The heating feature, while useful both for cutting and reducing the blood spray, carries its own set of disadvantages that the user would do well to consider. Its high-temperature glow is easy to spot with the naked eye, and sensors can detect it from even further away.
