Naidim Icayon

Naidim Icayon was born to the labouring classes of Panatha, trained to live and work the same way his ancestors had under the watchful eye of the planet’s nobility. His childhood was not forgiving, as it coincided with the fall of the First Order, political instability and conquest by the Eternal Empire. His community was one of many scattered by the instability, and Naidim came into the care of one of the many refugee communities among the river valleys of Panatha. Long ago these valleys held Teras Kasi masters whose art of self-defense by means of only the body were routinely suppressed or regulated by the nobility and royalty. Now, the River Masters formed the nucleus of new communities that eked out a living between the chaos. First with the Zambrano royals and the One Sith and the subsequent abandonment of the world in the latter’s collapse, then the First Order and its collapse against the Ssi-Ruuvi Imperium, then the Eternal Empire and its failed defence of Panatha from destruction at the hands of the hated Mandalorians. Under such circumstances, the communities of River Masters swelled to include many of the lost and dispossessed.
Naidim, however, was not one for a life of toil and service. He felt the pull to wonder and wander, and frequently got into trouble for his headstrong and inquisitive nature. When he was but an adolescent, he struck out from his village to learn more from the other Teras Kasi masters, and especially in regards to the mysterious Force. Panatha and especially the valley lands contained a hodgepodge of cast-off Force practices and traditions. In this cauldron of ever newer influences, Naidim’s thirst for knowledge and understanding came to teach him the wide variety of philosophies and, crucially, Force traditions of the successive waves of rulers. Local Teras Kasi schools, the unique Sith ideology of what would become the Kainites and the Knights of Ren under the First Order. Hungering for more, Naidim made use of his acquired knowledge, becoming a sellsword and peddler of tales and techniques as he travelled the different River Master communities, debating with and learning from their eclectic practices. Uniquely, this gave Naidim an understanding of the Force not tied to a single master and largely parallel to, though not entirely separate from, the Jedi-Sith dichotomy of Ashla and Bogan.
When Panatha was sacked by the Mandalorians, Naidim had returned to his community to share the bounty of his travels, in addition to helping establish contacts between the fragemented River Masters. Alas, no united front was formed in time when the Mandalorians came and burned the cities of Panatha. Even despite his travels and what he’d seen, Naidim was not prepared to see for the callous destruction by the hands of the Mando’ade. Where the deprivation under previous rulers came from conquest or abandonment, the Mandalorians seemingly came in force merely to destroy, without concern even for looting. Naidim's village was also destroyed in the battle, laying bare the impotency of his own masters. Left without home, meaning or purpose, Naidim drifted again, filled with aimless rage and dissatisfaction. Hijacking a ship and becoming a wandering warrior, Naidim roamed the Unknown Regions, searching for a purpose. With the spread of the Maw, he had thought to learn the method in the madness of these barbarous despoilers, but even Naidim was not desperate enough to join them on a whim.
Recently, Naidim made his way to Odessen, feeling something in the Force pulling him there. Word had reached him of an unusual Sith Lord who waited in the caves underneath the storied planet, and the wandering warrior realised he was very interested in finding out what that Sith knew…
