- Name: Nairi Zuhas
- Nairi Zuhas is ur-Kittat, the language of the Sith, for Fear Trackers
- Designation: Non-sentient
- Origins:
- Average Lifespan:
- 60 Galactic Standard Days
- Estimated Population: Planetary
- The vast majority of the population is located within the jungles of Valrar, specifically in the Umori Rainforest. If a population exists elsewhere in the galaxy, imported by the Order of Arcane Syn, it is almost exclusively to jungle or tropical climates as the insects thrive best in these environments. A small population has been provided for further combat testing to other Sith that have potential as allies of the Lady of Secrets.
- Description:
- A small and unassuming insect with a glowing thorax, the danger of the Nairi Zuhas is completely understated by their appearance. The stingers within their thorax, along with their other abilities, make them a uniquely painful deliverer of fear and agony, whether it be at their mandibles or the hunting party following in their wake.
- Breathes: Type I
- Average Height of Adults:
- Typical specimens of the species only measure between 3 and 5 centimeters tall.
- Average Length of Adults:
- Typical specimens of the species will reach lengths of roughly 10 centimeters long when fully grown.
- Skin color:
- The skin and chitin color of the insects generally range between bright greens and other similarly florescent colors to better blend into their jungle and tropical surroundings.
- Hair color:
- As they are insects, specifically created by the diplura, they do not have hair.
- Distinctions:
- The most distinctive physical traits of the creatures are their glowing thoraxes that contain the poison it creates within itself and the two stingers that can both deliver the toxin and form the blood trails. Besides this, males typically have a slightly larger set of antennae while females have a slightly larger thorax and thus poison reservoir than males.
- Races: No other races
- Force Sensitivity: All
- Due to their creation process involving the alchemy and sorcery of the Lady of Secrets, along with their empowerment through Nightsister ichor, each member of the species is Force Sensitive to a degree that allows them to facilitate the blood bindings and tracking.
- The Nairi Zuhas are surprisingly agile and swift creatures, making use of their legs to scuttle about their surroundings either along the forest floor or climbing surfaces.
- The Nairi Zuhas have two stingers, enhanced through Sith alchemy to easily puncture through most armors and protective clothing, contained within their bodies, with the first connected directly to the thorax reservoir that contains the poison mixed within their bodies and created by the Lady of Secrets and her alchemists. This poison, derived from the pheromones of the rhak-skuri and the powdered form of Devaronian blood-poison, causes intense fear and hallucinations within the victim as the poison triggers parts of their brain through chemistry. The derivative of the blood-poison also induces extreme and potentially debilitating pain at the puncture wound that spreads through the body.
- The second stinger of the creatures, also enhanced through Sith alchemy to pierce many types of armor and protective clothing, is contained with chest cavity of the creature. Similar to a needle, it releases a mild sedative to the puncture wound that makes it difficult for the victim to even detect they had been stung. The creature both samples a small portion of the blood of the victim and transmits a small bit of its own to the victim, creating a Dathomiri blood trail that allows the Nairi Zuhas, and any Sith connected to its mind, to track the victim across the stars.
- Nairi Zuhas, although Sithspawn, are easily killed or injured by simple actions such as crushing them or smacking them with blunt objects. They are not designed to be durable or armored creatures that can survive combat situations.
- While their stingers and the poison they release is incredibly potent, a trained Force user than can detect and detoxify their body of poisons can eliminate it from their body. In addition, the poison can't effect species or individuals that are immune to pheromones as the base of the toxin was formed from rhak-skuri pheromones.
- While the Dathomiri blood trail is a potent tracking device, if the creature that delivered the blood dies, the trail will instantly go cold. In addition, at long distances such as across planets, they only have a vague direction of the victim and require being closer to develop a more defined sense of their location.
- Diet:
- The insects are primarily herbivores, although as part of forming their blood trails, they are partially hemovores as they sample and metabolize the blood of their victim.
- Communication:
- Among their own species, the creations communicate through rubbing their front legs together and forming different pitches, similar to other insects while also transmitting pheromones among themselves. They can also, as Sithspawn, understand the ur-Kittat language when spoken aloud or transmitted mentally through the command of their Sith masters.
- Technology level:
- As non-sentient creatures, they cannot wield technology.
- Religion/Beliefs:
- As non-sentient creatures, they cannot form a religion or distinct belief system.
- General behavior:
- While within their natural habitat of the jungles of Valrar, the creatures are generally docile and focus most of their time consuming vegetation or resting within the leafy canopies of the rainforests. However, whenever they detect a threat from another creature or being, they will quickly attempt to sting them and escape while their victim is consumed by fear, hallucinations, and crippling pain.
- When under the control of Sith beastmasters, biomancers, or assassins, the creatures are useful tools and servants of the Sith as they are far more aggressive in their demeanor. They will attempt to swarm and sting a victim repeatedly, to overload their minds and bodies with their poison. As a tool of assassins and trackers, they will take on that stealth aspect and will only administer their poison if commanded, defaulting to creating a blood trail quietly for their Master to follow back to their target.
As a new creation developed by the Order of Arcane Syn within their facilities on Valrar, the Nairi Zuhas were designed to be a quieter tool of the Sith. Working off the rhak-skuri and various diplura of the galaxy, the small insect is deceptively dangerous in its simplicity and abilities. Under the oversight of the Lady of Secrets, Darth Arcanix, the creature was designed to be unassuming, just another jungle insect in an extremely populated environment of similarly colored insects and creatures. However, it would be its ability to move about quickly and administer a special brew that could make it an effective tool of Sith of a more... subtle background.
Through Sith alchemy, the creatures create a toxin within their bodies that combines rhak-skuri pheromones, famous for their frightful hallucinogenic properties, and Devaronian blood-poison, infamous for the extreme and debilitating pain that can consume a victims body from the wound the poison was administered through. Delivered by a thoracic stinger, the poison was designed to debilitate enemies of the Sith through a combination of pain and fear. However, it was not the only ability gifted in their creation process that could be useful for the Sith.
A secondary stinger within their chest cavities was infused with Dathomiri ichor and alchemy to both sample blood and impart a portion of the creature's own blood into a victim. The result was the insect creating a blood trail that connects them to the victim, allowing a Sith master of the creature to track prey even across the galaxy.
