A subsidiary of the Nakaioma Conglomerate. Nakaioma Defense Dynamics, or NDD is a megacorporation specializing in weapons manufacturing, and advanced military technologies. Originally Hosnian Military Systems, the corporation, one of the largest of its kind, was acquired via a merger and rebranded with the namesake of its new parent corporation. Dividing its attention between two primary sectors, the development and innovation of new military related technologies, and the manufacturing of both its own, and other brands of weapons, vehicles, and starships, NDD exists as both a development, and manufacturing firm. In 860ABY it was one of the galaxy's largest defense contractors. Due to the sensitive nature of the defense industry, both politically, and in regards to corporate, or national espionage. NDD could be described as being the most secretive of the Nakaioma subsidiaries.
Technically existing as a number of separate, and distinct corporate entities, one for each national government it falls under, with some examples including Nakaioma Defense Dynamics GA, which serves the Galactic Alliance, and Nakaioma Defense Dynamics Imperial, which serves the New Imperial Order, in-order to ensure a continuity of operations, and profit in the event of a breakdown of diplomatic relations between any two governments. It is de-facto a single entity, with most of its operations being directed from Nakaioma Plaza, and orders being distributed to the regional headquarters across civilized space much in the same way as the other, more ordinarily organized subsidiaries. It is no secret that the Conglomerate feels no particular loyalty to any one government in this regard, and will develop, and manufacture armaments for most groups with the means to contract them for it.
With subdivisions in the Confederacy, Galactic Alliance, Concord, CAD, and New Imperial Order, NDD is about as widespread as its sister corporations. Directing many of its deals with smaller, planetary and regional governments, businesses, and other groups through its primary headquarters in each respective nation. Working on conjunction with Nakaioma Capital, NDD maintains a loan service for groups that are unable to immediately pay to be serviced. In the rare event of a refusal to pay further down the line, despite the large interest that the corporation puts onto their initial loan, they have been known to utilize paramilitary forces to forcefully extract any valuable assets from the individual, or group in question. Thanks to their legal team however, which numbers in the hundreds, most of the cases brought against them for excessive use of force, or intimidation, have fallen through.
Inherited from his father, Szuko Nakaioma, when he unexpectedly passed away. Saro Nakaioma took the reigns of the massive conglomerate as CEO at the age of 38. Where his father was a steady hand, never wanting to unnecessarily rock the boat, in-order to ensure the conglomerate's continued longevity, in the face of an unstable galaxy. Saro had an opposite view of the situation, seeing the chaos that was enveloping everyone and everything as a means to the Nakaioma Conglomerate's growth. Investing heavily in new projects, and innovations in all sectors of their business, and even expanding into new ones. He has become a popular figurehead for the brand name, and is well liked, and feared-when required, among the core elite.
