Nar Shadda Duel

Fletcher hated Nar Shadda. It was a crime ridden, polluted moon, and he couldn't understand how anyone could stand to be there. Though of course he was only here for the Republic. He saw it as a relatively easy mission, though that was probably just his arrogance. All he had to do was find [member="James M Parker"] and arrest him under the order of the Republic, before the Red Raven found him.

The streets were full of crime, as usual. Fletcher dressed in loose, dark clothes, but not clothes that would represent the Jedi, he wanted to keep his status concealed as not to draw attention to himself. He walked down the street slowly, to look around for the man. The Red Raven was known by the Republic for reasons Fletcher hadn't been bothered to bore himself with.

It was dull and the air tasted dirty. Fletcher quickened his pace to get through the illegalities on the streets, though still searching the crowds for the face he was looking for. It was ridiculous, the Republic hardly gave any details on how or where to find the man. He considered himself lucky to even get the name of the city.

His master was back at the ship, probably trying to find a more efficient way of searching for the man whilst Fletcher wandered the dangerous streets alone, a lightsaber concealed at his waist.

"NO PLEASE!!" A stray cry for help rang out a few houses down from the young Jedi and it seemed Lady Luck was on his side today.

A loud gunshot went off and it seemed that whoever was in that house luck wasn't on their side. There was a loud thump of literal deadweight hitting the ground, then there was silence for a few seconds before a maniacal laughter was heard. It cackled and wheezed over and over again and it's wild cadence echoed through the now quiet streets of Nar'Shadda.

"MAYBE IF YOU PAYED YOUR DEBTS YOU WOULDN'T BE DEAD!! HUH KARKER!! HUH!! HAHA!!" The voice of the one and only James Parker rang out and soon it went silent once again.

After a moment a slow whistle rang out of a casual and rather peaceful song, there was a few more loud thumps softer than the first then Parker walked out of the door to a ground floor house. He entered the young Jedi's field of vision as he approached him from down the street a good twenty meters away. He wore a pair of multi pocketed orange pants that were bulging with various grenades and gadgets. Strapped to his right leg was an Outlaw lever action shotgun and as it moved it he had a bare but heavily tattooed chest. His left arm was covered in tattoos and blood and his right arm was mechanical, a simple mechanical piece of machinery with a large brace to the forearm that looked to be apart of the arm. In that mechanical arm he had what looked to be a submachine gun of sorts. The man was pretty strapped to say the least and it appeared offing that poor fellow wasn't his first stop on the list of things to do.

In his mouth he was smoking a mixture of neutron pixie and booster blue spice and clouds of vapor were floating into the air as he walked towards the kid. As he stepped closer he looked at the kid and smiled widely showing rows of rotten and yellow teeth. But there was something strange about the man, where normally there was a signature of the force, there was nothing. There was a complete lack of force and he shared the same qualities as the Yuuzhan Vong it seemed.

"Out of my way kid." Parker said and laughed afterwards

Fletcher stood in shock for a moment. Shock at what the seemingly deranged man just did, how quickly they had managed to find each other and the unusual lack of force. Given only moments to react, he drew his lightsaber and held it out defensively, blocking the way whilst protecting himself. Though revealing himself as a Jedi, there was no other way he could have done it.

"You're under arrest for crimes against the republic." he said. Though he wasn't sure what it meant, he had heard others say it before. He stood in a stance, prepared to attack if necessary. But people like this never gave in easily.

Of course there were far more criminals than just this one, but they had to start somewhere, and Fletcher was only a Padawan.

Parker couldn't help but laugh under his bandana, it was just too funny. Really it was. This kid and huge emphasis on the kid part, thought he could just walk onto Nar'Shadda and try to arrest Parker. Parker of all people, the man who blinded Jorus Merrill, the man responsible for thousands of deaths across the galaxy. It was just too funny, way too funny. So Parker just laughed and laughed until it began to turn into ragged coughs and hacking.

"Oh kid, you just made my karking night!" Parker chuckled and lowered his bandana to take a very long drag off his spliff.

Exhaling colorful smoke he sighed happily and looked at the kid wielding the lightsaber. He paused for a moment and then realized he was being serious, completely serious. That only made him laugh again, after a few moments and blood filled hacks of phlegm Parker calmed down and took another long drag then threw his spliff to the ground. So Parker collected himself and let out a humorous scoff.

"Take me away, I'm your prisoner." Parker said as he set his sub machine gun down and lifted both his hands forward to look like he was ready for the Jedi to slap cuffs on him.

Fletcher looked at the man incredulously. "You're joking right?" he asked, not moving from his defensive stance. Despite his frustration, he stayed calm. He had never done a mission like this before and wished he wasn't alone. There was no way his master would find him in the chaotic mess of streets and he didn't have the concentration to speak to her telepathically.

The man seemed crazy to him and he clearly underestimated the Padawan. As a Jedi, Fletcher shouldn't attack first, the code stated that a Jedi could only attack in self defence and they shouldn't attack an unarmed opponent. But as an arrogant teenager, he could attack first, out of fear or anger as an underdeveloped Jedi.

He thought that his lightsaber and the Force combined could beat any weapon his opponent had and filled him with over confidence.

Parker grinned at the man beneath his bandana and continued to hold his arms out at the kid, his mind was a mush of warring personalities and soon his demeanor began to change. His face lost that maniac smile and he shook his head looking as if he had no idea where he was, that's when his eyes focused on the kid. He began to worry and his eyes filled with tears. This was a kid, just a freaking kid.

"Kid get out of here! There's not much time! I can't hold him! He will kill you! Run! Now!! GO!!" The man said with a completely different pitch of voice then changed back into a furious look.

"SHUT UP JAMES!! SHUT UP!!" Parker screamed then smiled taking control again. His eyes went back to that maniac glare and beneath his bandana he was grinning a rotted tooth grin.

"Come on, arrest me. Don't listen to him he's crazy. I've been a bad boy. Shove the cuffs on me little Jedi come on." Parker said and lifted his hands up so they would be about even with the kids's chest.

Parker stepped forward in almost a dancing kind of shuffle and kept that grin up beneath his bandana. Whatever that had just happened the better part of the man had made a warning to the little Jedi.

Fletcher began to back away from the man, feeling uncertain about who to trust. He felt overwhelmed with confusion but still kept his composure. He deactivated his lightsaber, though keeping the hilt in his hand, and began debating with himself whether he ought to run or not. No, a Jedi wouldn't run. he told himself. Though it couldn't be strictly true.

He began to wish he'd looked into the case of this man a lot more before he left. It was clear this man wasn't just an ordinary wanted man. There was something different about him, and it wasn't a minor detail.

The Padawan re-approached the man slowly, holding out the handcuffs in both hands while the lightsaber hung back at his hip.

Jackpot. Even though Parker's better half had come out to warn the kid, he didn't seem to listen. And that was perfect for Parker, he was going to exploit every second of the kid's kindess. As he approached Parker with the cuffs his robotic arm blurred in a flash of high tension spring loaded movement and a hidden nine millimeter pistol exploded out of it aimed directly at the kid's chest. Parker was only bothered to say a single word, he didn't say any witty or crazy.

"DIE!!" He screamed and pulled the trigger the moment the pistol was primed.

Barking off about a good three rounds in the course of a two seconds from about three feet away hopefully the kids Jedi senses were sharp because Parked didn't like to take prisoners. And when he did take prisoners they wished they were never born. He hoped to finish this kid before the fight had even begun, if he was going to get into a long altercation he was prepared but he didn't have the tech he normally kept for force users.

After feeling something was wrong, Fletcher instinctively drew his lightsaber and just in time to deflect the bullets. Breathing heavily, he stared at the man with a wild look in his eye. "I could cut you in half right now. Don't try it." he warned. Now it was clear his opponent was willing to murder, he wished he took the warning given to him earlier.

Knowing this man's intentions and his previous crimes, Fletcher would feel no guilt out of hurting him. After all, it was out of self defence. He swung the lightsaber blade in from the side, hoping to catch the man's hip if he were slow. The Force was always an option to use. It was less conspicuous and unpredictable for the opponent, which would give him the advantage.

The kid sensed and deflected Parker's super special technique of shoot them into the face until they die. This was not good, the kid had at least a basic idea of how to fight. Which wasn't terribly bad, James had taken on Jedi masters and people with more power in their little pinky than this kid had in his whole body. So he was confident that taking out this small fry would be a walk in the park.

As the kid came at him with a swipe to the hip, James bounded back in a backwards somersault. As he did so he picked up his lil monster submachine gun with his robotic arm. As he came back up a good six feet away from the kid he did so on one knee with the large sub machine gun pointed at the boy's chest.

Now the lil monster fired a .38 special bullet. Which was about three inches long and capable of puncturing durasteel, it meant that this round was heavy and fast, really fast. So Parker just grinned at the kid

"Dodge this." He said with glee in his voice before pulling the trigger

Bullets from the gun left the barrel in a spray of heavy metal rain that could punch through concrete walls. It would take a miracle to block them with a lightsaber as they moved at the pace they did.

Fletcher knew he was in trouble if he didn't find help soon. But no one on this crime ridden planet would help a Jedi. He kept his lightsaber across himself in a defensive stance. This particular opponent was unpredictable, which made Fletcher feel uneasy as some of his moves could be predicted by his opponent.

The Padawan blocked the first few bullets but was shot down by the sheer amount of them. Having been shot just below his shoulder on his left arm, he clutched the wound in grimace and stumbled to regain his balance.

Watching the kid stumble and take the large round to the shoulder Parker laughed and smiled wildly underneath his bandana. He had exhausted about fifteen rounds in his magazine and he planned on finishing off the little squirt. Standing up on both feet he chuckled and took a few steps back so the kid didn't get any wise ideas of charging him.

"Oh kid you picked the wrong guy to kark with today." James lifted up the rifle and aimed it at the wounded kid.

"So where do you want it? Head or chest? Open or closed casket?" He said with a sick smile that raised the corners of he cheeks.

With his robotic arm he gripped the lil monster submachine gun tight and he waited on the kid to answer him. He may of been a monster but he was at least going to let the kid decide whether or not he had a face for his funeral. Well at least on Nar'Shadda he might not get one before organ scavengers came along to harvest his body for the black market organ trade. Regardless his body wouldn't go to waste.

Fletcher grimaced and pulled his bloodied hand away from the wound and gripped his lightsaber with both hands. "In your dreams." he said as he force jumped over the man and lunged forwards with his lightsaber outstretched. If the criminal didn't move out of the way quickly, he would impaled by the plasma that was coming at him from behind, and if he moved too slow then he would be left with a nasty wound. Fletcher hoped the man had slow reactions.

The Padawan tried to ignore the wound in his shoulder, he didn't need to use his left arm anyway, he was right handed. The dull sensation had made his arm become numb and filled the boy with dread.

James let out a maniac laugh at the kid's actions and by this time the Neutron Pixie and Booster Blue spice was coursing through his body enhancing his perception to the point where he could dodge blaster shots, but of course those were blasters. This was close quarters combat with a Jedi and his lightsaber, that was like trying to compare chess to checkers. So Parker using the enhanced reflexes pushed out of the way and moved from losing any internal organs.

But his mechanical arm was clipped by the saber from about the forearm and half of it came slicing off with hydraulic fluid spraying out everywhere rather than blood. Losing most of the function beneath his hand he wasn't going to be pulling any triggers any time soon. So James spun back around dropping the submachine gun and with his organic arm lifted the outlaw shotgun.

With a loud cocking noise he aimed the birdshot round at the boy from a good eight feet away then fired a spray of tiny metal balls at the boy in a spread of about two feet of the deadly projectile.

"DIE JEDI FILTH!!" Parker screamed and his arm sparked and his hand went limp losing complete control in it. But he could at least use the dead weight of it to use the lever action and cock a new round of birdshot into the chamber.

Fletcher backed away from the man as he laughed, it was clear the man was deranged and maybe on some sort of drugs. He knew he was going to have trouble bringing a satisfactory end to this fight. He watched as the criminal saved himself from death, only by a hair, but lost his forearm at the will of the blade. Fletcher was satisfied that he'd been able to disable the man at least in some way that would give himself an advantage. Almost taken back by what he'd done, he was slow to register the shotgun facing him.

The Padawan force jumped to remove himself from the path of the gun, but to no avail. He had been hit in the thigh multiple times during the jump and fell back to the floor, moaning from the pain and clutching his leg. He kept his lightsaber ignited as he swung the blade towards James's legs.

The kid was hit good, with a .38 special in his shoulder and birdshot in his leg. It was safe to say that he hurting bad. And it showed in a few of his movements, Parker chuckled at that and with his spice rattled mind he quickly performed a back flip and landed five feet from the Jedi as to keep the distance between them. Then he looked down at the kid and a sick smile formed on his mouth.

"Did you know the average human heart pumps a third of a cup of blood with every beat?" The man said with his sick smile.

"It beats on average seventy two times a minute. But with the way you are jumping around id say it's higher
So let's say that's over one point six liters of blood per minute. Now you've been shot pretty good, you can keep jumping around and bleeding out. I've already killed you if that's the case. Because in about." James lifted up his robotic arm where there was no watch

"About ten minutes, you'll lose enough blood for you to pass out and die. So let's keep going, speed that process up."Parker said and lifted his shotgun back up to point at the kid.

"You look pale, do you want to sit down?" Parker said with a chuckle

Fletcher stayed standing, keeping the pressure off his injured leg. He stepped away from the man, limping heavily. The Padawan listened with continuously growing fear. Though he wasn't sure if it was entirely true or just to scare him, he knew he would have to stop moving around, further limiting his combat and options.

"Please." he pleaded, too overwhelmed to even carry out a sentence.

Parker laughed at the pathetic lump of a Jedi in front of him, he cocked his shotgun and kept it level with the Jedi. He wanted to end this little Jedi scum then collect the bounty on his head, but then that would just be way too easy. So Parker paced left and right keeping the shotgun pointed.

"Aww you said please, you know what? I respect that, so I'm going to give you a head start!" Parker said with his maniac smile and laughed again.

"Did you hear me you little piece of bantha crap!" Parker shouted then fired a shot at the kid's side so it would miss.

"RUN BOY, RUN!!" Parker screamed and cocked the shotgun before bringing it up to aim at the boy's midsection. He was giving him a real chance to escape before hunting him down and shooting him like a dog in the streets.

Fletcher felt the Force flow through his body and smirked, it was an amazing weapon. He held both hands out towards the man and tightened the grip in attempt to Force choke him. The Force was his last weapon, a lightsaber wouldn't be much use now, not after being so heavily injured. After all, it required strength to yield.

But the Force could be used whenever and although it was somewhat physically draining, it was the most powerful weapon a Jedi could have.

The boy lifted both his hands up at James and the force flowed through the kid, not that James could feel it or anything. As that happened Parker lifted his hand up and wrapped it around his own throat as his eyes went wide and he began to make little choking gurgling sounds. He flailed his head around for a few seconds and his skin began to flush a bit red as it looked like he was exuding force on his face.

"Please, let go almighty Jedi. I learned my lesson, I'll never kill again. I'll go to chur-" Parker stopped there then let go of his neck and began to laugh.

His face returned to normal and he just laughed at the boy. He showed no sign of being choked and something daunting would fall on the child. The force didn't work on Parker, at least not a force choke. He was dead in the force, he was a Yuuzhan Vong shaped clone and much like the alien species he couldn't be manipulated through the force.

"Oh that's hilarious!" Parker said and lifted his outlaw shotgun to fire at Jedi's legs with more birdshot. The attack was meant to cripple him and not kill, but that didn't mean it wasn't going to be incredibly painful.
