Nar Shaddaa

Jack Nalto

The "Chef", Counterfeiter & Fence
Still new here. Tediously working on a character still, but I feel like I've got a decent idea of who exactly this character is going to be.

(Note: definitely not sure if this belongs here or in the Ask Questions forum... my bad. Or not. Idk.)

Anyway! Nar Shaddaa. It has changed several times over the course of Canon history, from once being a lawless ecumenopolis to being a Vongformed wasteland, to apparently bouncing back, rebuilding on top of itself, and apparently having higher security and being less lawless than what it once was (at least, that's what I gathered from a little research on Wookieepedia).

My question is, in what way does Nar Shaddaa exist as per SWRP Canon? Is it back to being the same old lawless ecumenopolis because this is centuries later? If not, what is like then? It doesn't seem to be within the territories of any major factions, but are there any minor factions shaping its culture, society, etc.?

Thanks!

Nar Shadda is in an interesting state as of right now. The Hutt Cartel was destroyed, which caused Nar Shadda to nearly collapse, but the worse part is the immigrants, when war in the Core Worlds between the One Sith and Republic happened, tons of people immigrated to Nar Shadda, causing it to be full of hungry people that will literally kill for anything to eat. So yeah,it's pretty lawless, and I'm sure someone can explain it better than me,but that's the basic summary of what happened.

Nar Shaddaa have been under the control of multiple criminal enterprises throughout our sites history and is currently controlled by some form of NPC government (I would assume), which is not doing a great job. Several slicers and other gangs as well as a couple of hutt enterprises are currently active on the planet.

With that said, is it a safe haven to smugglers, gangsters, pirates and all other criminal types? Is it without any form of governing body? And by destroyed, you mean economically and politically, not physically, right?

If so, sounds like it's definitely a lawless ecumenopolis. Just a lot more dangerous, and a lot more poverty stricken.

My idea is for a criminal doctor, cyberneticist, and dealer of pharmaceuticals/spices, conducting business with the seediest of characters. Nar Shaddaa seems like the best candidate for a place of operations as far as canon goes. A close second would be the Coruscant underworld. Any other planets you might suggest, player-created or canon?

Yes,economically, not actually destroyed by a super weapon. Your idea sounds really interesting and I hope it works out well for ya,and yes,it looks really fun to roleplay there as well.

Well, well, another new guy looking to make his influence on the Smugglers Moon.

Nar Shaddaa is definitely one of the more actively used worlds. If you are doing something criminal, it's one of the best places to go. Long ago it was controled by the Hutt Cartel faction. Then Black Sun took them over and their worlds. Then the Red Ravens beat the Sun's after they were betrayed by the One Sith. Then the new Hutt Cartel took it over, but they faded away. Now it's controlled by independent Crime Lords and gangs.

I just started a private thread on the world myself.

Things will be established that a Hutt named Graduxes controls Hutta Town. One of the major cities there. Building plot stuff for my characters story and others who tag along.

If you'd like. I'd gladly work with you. Ya scum of the earth organic mechanic.
