- Power: The greatest strength contained within these blasters is one simple and inordinate fact, their power. Their base is a Disruptor, the weapons use the exact same technology found in the VT-Needle Disruptor, that is a more concentrated and fine point energy as a regular Disruptor. Unlike standard Disruptors these blasters, and the VT-Needle Disruptor, do not indiscriminately destroy everything in their path, instead they fine tune their blasts, creating thin charged lines of disruption powerful enough to punch through most armors. Like the VT-Needle Disruptors these weapons create a blast about one inch in diameter, however their double charge action allow them to create a two inch sized blast. Doing this however saps the power cell for about three shots instead of just a single charge.
- Overcharge Jam: The same mechanism that allows the blasters to 'double charge' their shot also create a bit of a problem at times. This overcharge that create an odd jam within the weapon, a safety measure kicking in that sometimes(about 1 in 20 tries) will simply not allow the weapon to shoot. Instead the weapon will vent the charge out of two side pockets(just above the users hands), if this is not done the charge will backfire on the powercell and cause a critical overload.
Sometimes, fate has a funny sense of humor.
The VT-DC Blasters were originally commissioned and partially designed by Alric Kuhn for his wife, Danger Arceneau. They were meant as half an Anniversary present and half a thank you for agreeing to move to their new home, The Farm. The weapons in design weren't anything super special, at least in Vanir Technologies standards. The weapon function itself was a simple development of the Vanir Technologies Needle Disruptor and several other Disruptors Vanir has produced. More so, the weapons were designed to be aesthetically pleasing to Danger. Both Blasters were designed with her in mind, carefully tooled beautifully carved Wroshyr wood decorated the outside of the weapon a marvelous finish of Aurodium laying on top.
The blasters were quite simply put, stunning. Both functional and gorgeous the weapons would have been a perfect gift.
Alas, for Alric Kuhn, the gift would go to another.
Slevin Thawne, a calculating, loving man had long been in search for something that would stun and placate his loving paramour for a time. Lucky for him, such a gift was happened upon when a group of pirates under the employ of SIN Incorporated stumbled upon a freighter operated under the flag of Vanir Technologies. These pirates, doing their SIN given duty, came upon the Freighter and took everything inside, including the marvelous blasters meant for Danger Arceanu.
As is standard, Slevin reviewed the take of the pirates, smiling wider and wider as he opened cargo box after cargo box. Eventually the Crime Lord found the small ornate wooden box containing the two DC Blasters. He knew instantly for whom they were meant, for only one woman in the galaxy was deserving of such a gift; Natalia Thawne.
