Ranking Structure
Officers:
- Grand Admiral: Highest rank in the Fringe Navy, currently held by Shira Karrde, a member of the ruling triumvirate. More Grand Admirals may be named in the future.
- Lord Admiral: Second highest rank, responsible for an entire invasion front or for the defense of an entire sector. Senior Member of Naval High Council.
- Admiral: Commands a single Fringe fleet and is usually assigned to a Sector Admiral to assist in sector authority. In the field, can be assigned to coordinate several fleets.
- Commodore: Captains who have exemplified themselves in their duties will reach this rank and are expected to begin helping in day-to-day administration of the Fringe Navy. May command a Fleet. Most decision makers in the Navy are at Commodore level.
- Captain: Minimal rank to command a ship of the line (Star Destroyer/Battleship level). May serve as a Wing Commander.
- Commander: Commands one or two Wings (Wing Commander) OR a Heavy Cruiser level vessel.
- Lt. Commander: Commands one Wing (Wing Commander) OR a Frigate level vessel.
- Lieutenant: Commands a Squadron (Squadron Leader) OR a Corvette level vessel.
- Ensign: Enlisted personnel who wish to command a vessel or a squadron achieve this rank. They are sent to the Rattatak Military Academy for Naval Training to become a Lieutenant.
- Chief Warrant Officer: Highest rank a Flight Leader can achieve without commission. Senior Non-Commissioned Officer.
- Warrant Officer: Highest rank a Flight Member can achieve. Senior Flight Members and Flight Leaders who are expected to show great amounts of activity and good conduct. Senior Non-Commissioned Officer.
- Master Chief Petty Officer: Experienced Flight Leaders with long history of service and good conduct. Non-Commissioned Officer.
- Chief Petty Officer: Minimum rank to become Flight Leader. Experienced Flight Members. Non-Commissioned Officer
- Petty Officer: Experienced Pilot.
- Crewer: The entrance rank for a new pilot
Starfighter Corps
- Wing Commander: He or she commands the wing's overall strategy and well being. Each Wing has six Squadrons, for a total of 72 fighters. A Wing Commander may be set over one or two wings, or over an entire starfighter battle. A Wing Commander's rank is usuallyLieutenant Commander, Commander, or Captain.
- Squadron Commander: The Squadron Commander is responsible for the coordination of his or her given Squadron both in character and out of character. IC, the Squadron Commander leads their pilots, disciplines them and is responsible for their performance overall, including their wellbeing and skillset both allow them to competently pilot the squadron's current ships. Each Squadron has three Flights.
- Flight Leader: A Flight Leader leads a usual amount of four Flight Members and is responsible for giving orders and liaising between the Wing Commander, Squadron Commander and the Flight Members themselves. Flight Leaders are often called upon to work with other flights to perform Squadron Maneuvers.
- Flight Member: A Flight Member is one of four pilots in his or her flight. They are required to work with their wingmate and indeed the rest of their squadron to execute fighter maneuvers and work as a team.
