DESCRIPTION |
The NavSec Armor retains a similar aesthetic to its forebearers and much like the Alliance Guard Armor harkens back to the time when the first Galactic Alliance rose to prominence in the Galaxy. Though lacking the standard pressurized and specialized sealed suits that are commonplace among the myriad of Trooper Variants seen throughout the Galaxy, NavSec Armor still provides ample protection to the individuals donning these suits as well as boasting a higher resistance to Energy-based weaponry compared to the Alliance Guard Armor. Maintaining an on going theme, each suit of NavSec Armor is individually tailored to the measurements of the personnel that is issued the suit of armor, a step that is utilized to ensure that the armor cannot be easily worn if salvaged or donned as a disguise if the individual were rendered incapacitated or killed. An additional design maintained in the armor is a similar component to Blast Armor, with the armor itself being designed with a series of under-laying pockets and sections containing reflective crystals suspended in a semisolid gel; which provides increased protection against sonic-based weaponry as well as the physical impacts of slashing and piercing strikes commonly associated with bladed weaponry. The primary drawback of the armor comes in the form of the aforementioned lack of a pressurized or specialized sealing suit due to the inclusion of an open-faced helmet. Maintaining this design feature renders the wearer exposed to attacks that are chemical or biological in nature, necessitating the carrying of additional life-support equipment to counter such instances. Likewise, the armor is incapable of being utilized to survive in the vacuum of space or in atmospheric conditions not condusive to the individual wearing the armor, such as Type III Atmospheres requiring a breath mask due to lacking appropriate levels of atmospheric oxygen or nitrogen, or due to the presence of contaminats. While NavSec Armor is capable of withstanding glancing blows from Lightsaber Strikes, the armor is otherwise incapable of withstanding a full strike or preventing a lightsaber from piercing through the armor. Where NavSec Armor shines is in its increased protective capabilities, specifilically its increased resistance to energy-based weaponry, beyond what the standard Alliance Guard Armor is capable of withstanding. And, though the armor is capable of preventing a blaster bolt from burning through an individual's chest, it still must be reiterated that the armor itself cannot withstand strikes from heavier weaponry such as heavy blasters or blaster cannons. Internal systems within the helmet and armor, along with the standard issued de-ionizer also ensure that the individual wearing the armor is well shielded and protected from Ion-based weaponry. Likewise, its resistance to kinetic-based weaponry remains impressive, capable of withstanding most small-arms save for the largest of calibers or those designed specifically to pierce armor. Much like the Alliance Guard Armor, NavSec Armor was developed in secret behind closed doors, merely waiting for its moment to be deployed into the Galactic Alliance and soon to find itself on the countless battlefields where Alliance Forces can be found. |
