STANDARD FEATURES
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Small-ish Package, Big Punch: Due to the weaponry this satellite has, it can pack a large punch and change its firing mode depending on target data and range. It is mostly useful for taking out smaller ships, such as corvettes and starfighters. It can fight larger ships, but its shield system wasn't designed to punch above its weight class, limiting its effectiveness in larger fleet operations.
  • Advanced Systems: Despite its lackluster appearance, it has many advanced systems packed into it to make it effective at its job: defense.
WEAKNESSES
  • Towed Into Place: This unit must be towed into place and has no engines to move on its own. Once it is anchored that's where it lives until it's either moved or destroyed.
  • Look Out Below: This unit has no downward-facing weaponry, meaning that coming from below is a death sentence to it.
DESCRIPTION
The NCE-DS01 or Hawk, was designed to fill the role of a system defense satellite. It is meant to be used in conjunction with other units to increase effectiveness. At the time of design, the EOTL had no individual designs for defense platforms or satellites, this was meant to fill that gap and pave the way for larger platforms or satellites to be made. Due to the less-expensive nature of the unit, it has no internal engine systems, meaning it must be moved by a secondary unit with flight capabilities.

Despite this, the Hawk has some of the most advanced weaponry on the market today, making it a mean machine when fighting smaller classed vessels. However, its shields, while powerful, aren't meant to go toe-to-toe with ships larger than a corvette or small frigate. It has to fully depend on itself and other Hawk units, to take care of enemy vessels as it has no hangar as a satellite.

Designed to be autonomous, it still needs to interact with traffic/weapon controllers to make sure its vessel database is up to date and knows which vessels are friends or foes. It can also be modified to swap to turbolasers, point defense, or missile systems, letting the system it's defending be in charge of its armament. Limited to the nine hardpoints already installed during manufacture.

Nicely made! I would like to ask you to add the following fields to the template:
  • Length: (Via Metric System. Max: Differs based on manufacturer and affiliation. See Factory Rules.)
  • Width: (Via Metric System. Max: Differs based on manufacturer and affiliation. See Factory Rules.)
  • Height: (Via Metric System. Max: Differs based on manufacturer and affiliation. See Factory Rules.)
  • Hangar Space: (Please provide the amount of fighters/support craft this submission can hold in it's hangar by count of Squadrons, which hold 12 average Starfighters. The higher your squadron count, the lower your Armament and number of advanced systems should be. [For typical sizes see equivalent Size of Starship.])
  • Hangar Allocations: (This is the allocated amounts of starfighters and support craft (dropships, shuttles, gunships, etc) this submission can hold in its hangar based on the maximum hangar space capacity.[For typical sizes see equivalent Size of Starship.] )
    • Starfighters: x squadrons
    • Support Craft: x squadrons
  • Hyperdrive: (Does this ship have a hyperdrive? If this ship has a hyperdrive how fast is it? The lower the number, the faster the ship is, you may choose decimals. Any speed below 1.0 requires the hyperdrive to be added to the ship’s strengths and accordingly balanced with weaknesses. Links: Hyperdrive, Hyperdrive Comparisons)
