Need Guidance - Need Master (Republic)

In my experience (having gone through what you're about to go through) I'd offer the following pointers. Like any feedback, it's free and it's up to you if you choose to use it:
1. It is easy to accept the first Master/Knight that offers - you want to get going ASAP - but be more direct with what you want/need from a Master. How often will you post? How often do you expect your Master to post? Do you want to specialise and do you want your Master to reflect that specialism e.g. using the Force, lightsaber skills, guardian, consular. What sort of training do you want? Do you want 1:1 training or will you look to various Masters/Knights/groups?
2. Be proactive - The best ones are often the busiest (makes sense after all) so balance that out in your mind. Do you want quality over quantity or the other way around. As with many things in life - getting both rarely happens, so be prepared for the worst. Check out the boards. Perhaps PM a Master that you think would be a good match.

Those are all excellent suggestions. With the Silver Jedi, which is my Order, I PMed the person who seemed the best fit for Jeela, mainly due to the knowledge of other orders that the person knew, since Jeela comes from the Jensaarai tradition rather than the regular Jedi. That worked really well, until the character had their Force connection severed, restored, and then was bumped down to padawan. It worked great before that though.

Yes, all hail Matsu and Aika, for they are the absolute oddest pair when it comes to teaching styles and personalities.
In all seriousness though, there are a lot of good force users around the board. Though being with specific factions can limit you based on allies/enemies and such. My advice? Take your time and look around a bit. There are always training threads going on. If you see someone doing something that catches your interest, PM them and ask a few question. If you two match up, then you might just have found a master. Basically, be patient. It was playing Aika for probably a month, maybe more, before she met Matsu in a thread. Was well worth it though.
