Once during the Gulag Era, all of Csilla was threatened by an ancient strategic missile satellite hidden over their world for hundreds of years, loaded with nuclear weapons, the malfunctioning of which threatened to destroy the surface of Csilla. At great personal risk, and battling a deadly madman, Nathan boarded the satellite and successfully destroyed it, saving Csilla from Nuclear Annihilation. The act won him great personal renown with nearly all Chiss alive at the time, and made Nathan one of the most famous Jedi Knights of the era, even with the completely crippled Galactic communication system making sure such info traveled slowly. In gratitude, The Csillan Government presented Nathan with an ancient, now ceremonial Lightsaber Foil wielded by an ancient Chiss Jedi. Nathan stored it away at Atrisia with his wife's starfighter in the months before his initial death alongside her at the hands of Darth Phyre, retrieving it at the same time he retrieved his wife's ship.
Now, in the modern era, with his deeds completely forgotten, and even his triumph at Csilla undone by the Destruction wrought by the Maw, Nathan is extremely hesitant to wield the blade, or be seen carrying it, given the painful reminders of his ultimate failure at life.
