Nar Shaddaa
1310 Local Time (After a big lunch)

Nej Tane.

Smuggler.

Pirate.

Long-lived scoundrel.

Thief.

Bank robber.

Jedi-shooter.

Fake dentist.

Bar fight connoisseur.

Fastest gun in the Outer Rim, and maybe Mid Rim. Inner rim indeterminate.

And now, thanks to the actions of several goofballs, a business casual Mandalorian, and several others, Nej was now a billionaire, a rich man, and in possession of a small fleet. But he was bored. Very bored. So, Nej set up a booth on Nar Shaddaa, put out a few fliers, a few messages. The message was simple. Nej Tane, legendary outlaw, had a bunch of resources, a bunch of credits, and a bunch of things that he didn't know what to do with. So-

He was going to give them away.

His booth was simple, flanked by well over a dozen security guards, and a really big droid. He took a deep breath, tapping his pen on the list. Nobody had yet come up to the booth, but his Holonet message was hopefully received seriously. Nej wasn't exactly an unknown figure in the galaxy, being the Prince of Katarr and all. Hopefully, though, none of the Crusaders came up to the booth and just took everything, or demanded everything. They did after all, indirectly make him insanely wealthy. He sighed, looking up to one of the guards.

"Space lemon water, sir?"

Nej scowled.

"Lime, please. Lemons are for breakfast."

And so, Nej waited for his first "customer".

It was probably for the best that the blond spacer decided to arbitrarily dump his assets when he did, for lo, the enemy of all freedom loving people cometh - the tax man!

Well, not exactly.

The Sith-Imperial Banking Clan, in their murky wiles to entrap the rich and the arrogant even further in webs of debauched intrigue made a habit of noting up and coming billionaires. Whether they would be dumb enough to fall prey into the web of financial deceit, canny enough to be coerced, or a potential threat to be neutralized, when a man of Tane's repute came into such wealth to... give it away?

It smelt suspicious.

Nar Shaddaa was the dictionary definition of a shadowport - an open secret among the ne'er do wells of the Galaxy, and so the beloved beancounters of the Banking Clan decreed that Trayze Tesar - the galaxy's most upjumped gumshoe - be sent to investigate.

The Kiffar regarded the "house rules" with a bemused huff, flanked by two Magnaguards of his own - mostly for formality's sake. "No droids, no shootouts", and a crudly scrabbled on "no Jedi mind sorcery" with a hastily added "or Sith!" with an additional "or anyone that can do that chit on the reg don't care what yer pronouns-" the rest was lost in the sideways scrawl of the ledger.

Spontaneous largesse indeed.

So, the Kiffar relieved his Magnaguards of their duty and entered in, looking at the truly eye-watering items on sale. A gift bantha is nice, but a trade earns repeat favors - someone with Mr. Tane's sort of luck, loathe as he was to aid scoundrels, Trayze wanted to reciprocate for the criminal's contribution to the "Trayze Tesar Wedding/Retirement/Messy Job Break Up And Subsequent Ass Coverage When Kaine Finds Out Your Family Is A Bunch Of Nuffies/Funeral times however many generations you will sire (friends and family to be added at a later date)" fund. It was a bit too wordy, of course, and it wasn't an official fund, per se, but while money can't buy happiness, it sure as chit out a keister can solve problems.

Arriving fashionably early, he regarded his host with a smile. Trayze had absconded the Captaincy Under Marque Uniform, or any uniform aside from a dark clad ranchman of his family's profession. With a bow, he acknowledged the man of the hour's presence, greeting him as one ought to greet a host.

"Yer Highness." he let slip the accent of which he was comfortable with, the accent of his kinsmen and those that raised him. "Thank ye fer yer hospitality. Trayze Tesar."

Nej Tane appreciated finally, that someone recognizing that he was in fact (legally) a Prince. He wore a uniform that Nej couldn't place, nor could he place if he tried.

But, he introduced himself, was kind, courteous, and somewhat forward.

One of Nej's lackeys brought him the lime water he asked for. He took a sigh, glancing around, boredly.

"Alright, what can I do you for, Mr. Tracer? What do you need, want, and don't have?"

Mr. Tracer, was infact, not his name. Nej slid the list across from him.

"Credits ta' make credits ta' make credits..." Trayze exhaled in mock exasperation "Though Ah am a sucker for a really big ship."

The shareholds were what whetted his appetite, but the Planetary Defense Centurions... he could do a lot with them. But for now, shareholds, a few big ships were nice, but an army marches on its stomach - and if he were to keep his finger on the pulse of a few suppliers, he'd know who and where those big ships went. Besides, he's gotta move up in the world, and independent and consistent income would help with that.

"Lotta big toys you got there, Yer Highness..." the Kiffar crooned, allowing his eyes to widen as he realized that yes, four megaships that could cast a planet-wide shield for days on end... and enough credits to buy damn near every atom in a star system were just on the top of the list...

"Those Caff-Machines, they... good? Or is this a fire sale?" He chuckles. "...Ah, sorry, Ah don't even know if yer th' Prince!"

Lets see what this guy's up to... what his real motives for this charity is. Is he cornered? Bored? Realize that this is too big a target on his back? Or is this whole operation smoke and mirrors for something else? ...Am I seriously the first one here?

3. Sskeer: A Trandoshan tracker, his cold, reptilian eyes always calculating, known for his expertise in hand-to-hand combat.

4. Vexla: A Rodian explosives expert, her green skin often camouflaged in urban environments, with a mischievous glint in her multifaceted eyes.

5. Durok: A Duros pilot and tech specialist, his smooth blue skin and red eyes concealing a mind adept at slicing and infiltration.

6. Nymara: A Nautolan seductress and intelligence gatherer, her head-tails often adorned with jeweled ornaments, using charm to extract secrets.

7. Kholak: A Kaleesh warrior-priest, his face concealed behind a traditional bone mask, blending spirituality with deadly precision.

8. Zarin: A Nagai swordsman, his pale skin and jet-black hair giving him a ghostly appearance, his vibroblade an extension of his will.

9. Threx: A burly Weequay brawler, his weathered skin and topknot marking him as a veteran of many skirmishes.

10. Lorra: A lithe Twi'lek acrobat and thief, her blue lekku often wrapped around her neck, skilled in stealth and infiltration.

11. Mordo: A hulking Houk bruiser, his thick hide making him a formidable opponent in close quarters.

12. Siv: A sly Devaronian con artist, his red skin and sharp horns often hidden beneath a hood, adept at deception and disguise.

A repulsor-sedan carried the Hutt through the throng of pedestrians, the hulking slug-man of over 3,000 lbs visible well before reaching the booth.

Half of his personal guard were visible. The rest were plainclothes or otherwise in a convenient location - a necessary precaution any time Whottoomuzz went somewhere in person.

What could warrant such an occasion?

Charity - on Nar Shaddaa? Whottoomuzz had to see it to believe it.

Whottoomuzz waved a hand and muttered some Huttese - it would be difficult to approach the booth with his considerable size without blocking the view for many of the attendees and there was no need to shout. Nymara, a nubile Nautolan of his personal guard approached to speak directly and translate the Hutt's words, when the time came.

The Hutt was not so discourteous as to interrupt the ongoing conversation. Such niceties were easy to observe when you were a proverbial elephant in the room wherever you went - and not just due to the tonnage.

Nej shrugged at the Kiffar’s words. “I just don’t need it.” He said with a sigh, looking briefly at the sky. He missed the stars. He missed the adventure. The next score. Planet to planet.

“It really doesn’t do me any good, either. Docking, moving, maintaining… costly.” He said, still looking at the sky.

“Everything is up for grabs. I’ll divy it up fairly. So- who are you, whatcha want and whatcha need?” He said, eyeing the Hutt behind him.

Hutts. He was in Hutt space, after all. But Nej Tane- for the last fifty years or so, had been at the top of the Hutt’s shitlist. He escaped their traps, stole their money, stole their wives, stole their schemes, drugs, killed a bunch of the hired guns sent after him-

The Hutts had every right to be mad at Nej. However- Nej was in a unique situation. He was technically a governor in the Mandalorian state.

Technically.

So- he felt pretty safe at the moment. Hutts were scum, but they weren’t stupid. Not a soul wanted a strike team from the deadliest warriors in the galaxy knocking at their door in the middle of the night.

Hutts included.

Nonetheless, Nej had his disruptor pistols in a cross-draw, ready to go. Hutt skin may have been thick, but it wasn’t thick enough for that.

"The Caff-Machines fer starters-"
Kark. Where would Nar Shaddaa be without the Hutts? Surprisingly, a Hutt came in person - the head of the Chantin clique themselves - entourage and all.

Things were escalating, and so Trayze needed to secure what he wouldn't want to leave on the table - but do so subtly. Don't start a panic, don't incite an escalation. Where Tane was clearly dispensing this excess to lighten his load on the road between jobs, a kadajic would be far less charitable - both in the acceptance of, and the giving of gifts. Tane was a newly minted Prince in name only, and a burden the smuggler wanted to shrug off - so the Kiffar needed to get eyes on the actual assets.

Was it particularly honorable to set smuggler and Kadjic against one another, risking the survivors to have a grudge against him? Not necessarily, and maybe not inciting an incident between host and guest so he could just hold onto the rest of the items... no, even if it was to prevent a revitalization of the Hutt Empire - stooping to petty theivery would mean he was becoming the very thing he swore to destroy.

"...Though Ah'll have those shares if ya don't mind. Been a bit fond slugthrowers..."

But he would step aside, looking to the large being. "Whew! High stakes clientele! Ah'll get out of Yer Highness' hair..." a polite bow, shuffle away, a deliberately mispronounced greeting in surgically butchered Huttese, let him be beneath notice, an unthinkable factor. See where the pieces fall, and move accordingly.

Nej didn't wait for the Big Slug any longer, regarding his presence, but ultimately disregarding it.

Nej looked at his compatriot, took out a notebook, crossing off the items gifted to Trayze Tesar Trayze Tesar . He pointed at a nervous-looking Zabrak, flanked by well-armed mercenaries and now staring down a Hutt and whatever Trayze was.

"He'll setup the paperwork and transfer ownership." He looked boredly back at the skies, taking a deep breath. He wanted to be back on a ship, back in the stars. He blew some air out of his mouth, looking back around.

"If that's it, that's all I got for ya. No words of wisdom or anything."
