Progress was paramount. The Sith prided themselves on their evolution, their continual march towards perfection with every successive generation. They achieved this perfection through their studies of the natural and the spiritual worlds. Only a fool believed that they had learned everything there was to learn, the truly wise knew that there was always something new to discover.
The Kainate embodied this mindset of discovery and exploration, always pushing the boundary of every scientific field. Often they did this to the detriment of others, stepping over dozens or hundreds of corpses in their pursuit of knowledge.
The road leading to the creation of what would become known as Nemeroth's Hide was similarly bloody. It started with the creation of Tal'Beskar, a metal created by the symbiosis of naturally occurring Beskar and the Living Force through the ingenuity of Sith Alchemy. This perversion of the natural order was the first building block, the second was Sarrassian Iron. Sarrassian Iron could only be mined in a few select locations in the galaxy, chiefly Sarrassia and the mud-moon Niful. Though scarce, the metal was naturally strong in the Dark Side of the Force.
The Kainate had experimented with Sarrassian Iron in the past but never have gone so far as to combine both the iron and Tal'Beskar together. Through Sith Alchemy, the two metals were melted down and combined molecularly. Cast back into solid form in the mold of ingots, the new alloy combined the strength of both and compensated for several weaknesses inherent in either.
Pleased with the results, the Dark Lords Carnifex and Prazutis declared the new metal to be called Nemeroth's Hide.
