New Alliance Leadership and Ranks

A New Alliance

The Alliance rises again. Though it will never again be the superpower it once was, a reformed Defense Force and interplanetary government wages guerilla war and wields economic sanction, determined to liberate Sullust and its surrounding sectors by any means available. Though the Core is now lost to us, Outer Rim independence will not be so easily denied.

Reformed under a new unified Home Fleet, Fleet Admiral Mazik Stazi leads an extended peacekeeping campaign in the region. Imperial holdouts and Ssi-ruuvi reavers alike keep his forces on constant alert, but the Admiral is planning a new offensive. The Roving Lines and Sector Forces of the Alliance-in-Exile are to be reorganized into new Expeditionary Groups, lean task forces assigned to take the fight to their enemy.

The New Jedi Order has fallen, but those Crusaders loyal to the Alliance have formed a New Jedi Covenant. No longer operating openly as public officials, these radicals now watch over their worlds from the shadows. Rejected by the public for the actions of a few, true patriots like the Covenant will not allow popular sentiment to keep them from their eternal vigil.

Revised In-Character Leadership Structure

The Chief of State serves as both Commander-in-Chief and executive of the political government. During their days in exile the position was essentially an elected dictatorship with some checks, but after the liberation of Elrood Chief Sovv voluntarily divested most of his political and legislative authority to the Advisory Council, a quorum comprised of elected officials from New Alliance worlds.

Knights of a fallen order, the New Jedi Covenant gathers in shadow. Jedi General Coren Starchaser is their public voice, many of the Jedi he saved from persecution now serve the Alliance as silent advisors and agents. Some however still seek their own path to redemption, operating alone as ronin and vigilantes.

A scattered Alliance Fleet has emerged from hiding and reformed into the New Alliance Defense Force. The bulk of these forces are now organized under a single chain of command structure, the Alliance Home Fleet. Rapidly deteriorating conditions throughout the Outer Rim has forced High Command to incorporate their guerilla forces into new roaming Expeditionary Groups meant to seek out new threats before they grow into a clear and present danger.

General Coren Starchaser commands the Alliance Armed Forces and is Allied Commander of Sector Forces

Beneath this level ranks and the chain of command are reasonably fluid and handled on an ad-hoc basis.

Restricted Ranks

Each area has its own Restricted Rank. These are:
  • Allied Commander
  • Jedi General
  • Minister
These are awarded to members who drive In Character activity within the Faction. They represent being given authority over a particular area or a dedicated Task Force/Unit.

High Command

Chief of State Jaius Sovv is Commander-in-Chief
Jaius is a 83 year old Sullustan and last surviving member of the old Galactic Alliance Triumvirate. During his time as President of the Sullustan Council and Governor of Sullust, he was known for his strong pacifist ideology and moderate leanings. After having spent nearly a year as a First Order prisoner of war, a changed Sovv during his candidacy for Chief of State ran an uncharacteristically hawkish campaign that detractors believe in part contributed to the Alliance's ultimate downfall.

Admiral Mazik Stazi commands the Alliance Defense Fleet
Mazik is a 52 year old Duros. He is one of the few loyalist Defense Fleet flag officers who staged a successful fighting retreat out of the Core and managed to link up with the remaining Alliance command elements in Outer Rim space. He is known for his uncharacteristic ruthlessness and disdain for formality. A sailor his entire life, to the Admiral every problem has a military solution and he is not very capable at looking past those preconceptions.

General Coren Starchaser commands the Alliance Army and Sector Forces
Coren is a 34 year old Corellian Jedi Master. One of the founding members of the New Jedi Order, he has been with the Galactic Alliance from the very beginning. After the liberation of Coruscant and the end of the One Sith Empire, he disappeared for a time wandering the depths of the Unknown Regions and Wild Space. Returning when news of war with the First Order finally reached him, he stepped back into the mantle of military commander, and survived the destruction of the Coruscant Temple when Taeli Raaf revealed the depths of her betrayal. It is for that reason, and that reason alone that even as a Jedi he has a voice in High Command.

ALLIANCE MILITARY

Current Allied Commanders:
  • [member="Mazik Stazi"] (Fleet Command)
  • [member="Coren Starchaser"] (Sector Command)
Description:

Ostensibly lead by the Commander-in-Chief and his advisors, operationally speaking the Alliance Military is largely left to its own devices. It remains just as varied as one would expect from soldiers representing a conglomerate of worlds, and yet its size, reach, and operational standards have all been severely impacted leaving it a pale shadow of the Galactic Alliance Defense Force it was born out of.

After years in exile, loyalist military forces have reformed under a New Alliance Home Fleet (also known simply as the Fleet) which is now once more stationed over Sullust. Far more modestly sized armadas known as Expeditionary Groups range throughout beyond Alliance space, with broader objectives to seek out local threats and render aid to both Coalition worlds and the Underground. Expeditionary Groups must obey minor faction limitations for so long as they operate outside of Outer Rim Coalition space.

The military is a very simple 'what you feel you deserve and should lead.' In the early days, the Galactic Alliance had a bit of a ragtag military with ships and weaponry from all manner of sources within her borders. Now more centrally organized, it has returned to its patchwork roots and maintains a mix of Rebellion/Old Republic aesthetic.

ALLIANCE GOVERNMENT

Current Ministers:

General Rank
  • Representative
  • Deputy
  • Ambassador
Description:

Officially reestablished in the aftermath of Elrood's liberation from Imperial authority, the New Alliance government is a fledgling organization not quite deserving yet of the name. With only a slim foothold in the greater Elrood Sector, the Advisory Council continues to function much as it did in exile as a small quorum of elected representatives from worlds where Alliance influence holds sway.

And yet, there are still many ways for civilian leaders Alliance worlds to contribute. The Council now dictates much of the day to day policy, its Chief of State having foreseen the looming need to reform their more paramilitary ways once the union between Sullust and Elrood had been restored.

There is also the need for oversight of the military's High Command, with divisions like Support Services and Ordnance and Supply comprised predominantly by civilian labor. While the SIS continues to assist where they can as they do for all governments who seek justice in the galaxy, their attentions are necessarily diverted elsewhere and a ragtag team known as Alliance Intelligence serves as a new backbone for how, when, and where the government chooses to act.

NEW JEDI COVENANT

IC Restricted Rank for Shattered Jedi
  • Jedi General: Details a Jedi who serves the Alliance Military in a limited command role.
Current Jedi Generals:
  • [member="Coren Starchaser"]
General Classifications of Jedi
  • IC Padawan, Knight, Master
  • Any flavor of Jedi rank you may like to be within the Alliance be it a healer, a diplomat, historian, beast master, biologist, geologist, archaeologist, ambassador, researcher, recruiter, librarian, watchman, seer, scout, consular, ace, etc.
Description:

The New Jedi Order is no more. Scattered holdouts still endure on several worlds, but many Jedi who once served the Alliance are not so quick to embrace a new order or abandon the oaths they swore to their people. Driven into the shadows by the crimes of their leadership, a Covenant is sworn by a faithful few to keep watch with our without public sanction.

For the most part no longer trusted enough by High Command to serve in leadership, the military nevertheless still employs talented Jedi warriors as battlefield commanders and operatives who are overseen by both military and government to ensure their influence within the hierarchy never again grows to such dangerous extremes. Others act more as advisors and in support teams, as well as in more traditional capacities.

While most of these Jedi Crusaders continue to serve out of a sense of duty and honor, some choose the path of the grey. Seeking atonement for past actions, they remain ronin and vigilantes, sometimes appearing as soldiers of fortune and keeping their training in the Force a secret for everyone's protection.
